time spent at TS meals

For a 1 TS meal I plan 60 - 90 minutes
For a Signature 2 TS meal I plan 120 minutes

I've never spent more than 1-1/2 hrs at a TS meal but we're fast eaters (NYers always on the run, even on vacation...lol)

For a 1 TS meal I plan 60 - 90 minutes
For a Signature 2 TS meal I plan 120 minutes

This is pretty much us in a nutshell. I will add that we tend to make our sit-down meals for dinner and that's the one time of the day that we do not want to rush and will tend to take our time :).

Are you talking about from the time you sit down until the time you leave? Or from when you check-in? Because even with a reservation sometimes you can find yourself waiting 30 minutes. I've also found that some character meals (Chef Mickey for instance b/c so many characters) are longer than other.

I concur with JimmyBean42. We have had some meals where it's in and out. No problem (Even a Character meal) As an example we had an early ADR for Akershus Breakfast. It almost seemed like we were rushed out. From the time we checked in until we left (including the "Picture Taking" with Belle before we sat down) was probably about an hour.

Conversely we had an ADR at Crystal Palace one day and had to wait almost 30 minutes past our ADR time to get in. Then it was probably almost 90 minutes (or longer) before all the characters finally made it around to our table.

Lastly we had ADRs at Mama Melrose's. While we waited about 15 minutes past our ADR to get into the place, once in, we were done and out (leisurely) in about an hour.

I guess it really depends upon the location, your expectation (are there characters and do you want to see them all?), time of year, time of day, weather (believe it or not), and probably a whole lot of other factors.

My suggestion is to plan for upwards of 90 minutes but make sure your plans after your TS are flexible enough. So don't plan a 12:30 Lunch at the Crystal Palace with a 1:30 FP+ at the 7DMT because you might miss it (even if the window is an hour long on the FP+)

A lot depends on what you eat--apps, drinks, dessert? Or just an entree?

IF you wish to gobble down some food and leave in a hurry, you can be in and out fairly quickly.

If you take the time to enjoy the meal, dinner can take up to 2 hours.

The other thing to take into consideration is if you need travel time. That can add another 30 minutes.
Example, If you are eating at Ohana on your MK day, you would need to plan time to get to the monorail to get there or Whispering Canyon, you would want to allow time to get there on the boat/bus.
Last year, we waited 30 minutes for a table at Sci-Fi with a 3:15 ressie (I thought was an off time) and 30 minutes for a table at 'Ohana with a 7:30p ressie. These were wait times in September on low crowd day but with free dining.
I think 60-90 minutes is about average for us but we allow 2 hrs with wait time after check in.
The only time we have been out faster than 60 minutes is at our pre park opening breakfast at Tusker House.
Even with the characters we are always out by rope drope if we can score an 8-8:15am ressie.
I agree it really depends upon the location, your expectations and your family's meal habits. We like to relax and enjoy the surroundings without being rushed.

I agree with others, it depends on how long before they sit you, if you eat fast or savor the experience and if you get a good server. We spent 2 hours at Sanaa last trip, our ADRs were for after 8 so it wasn't busy but we had the slowest server in the place. A number of tables actually turned over while we ate, it wasn't because we were eating slow our server just didn't come back to the table, we actually waited a half hour after our bill was delivered to our table to leave. On the other had, we have been in and out of Brown Derby in a hour and didn't gulp down our food, just didn't have to wait on the table and had a good server. I would plan for 2 hours to be safe.
