we will be staying at a disney time share ( animal kingdom in april 2010)5 days 4 nights and we would also like to stay at a value resort for 4 days 3 nights-- are we eligible for disney dining and tickets at a pkg rate for the entire time of our visit ??and can we switch from two resorts easily..

Switching resorts is pretty easy, have bell services transfer the luggage for you. However, cash reservations and point reservations are completely separate systems for tickets and DDP. Assuming your DVC stay is first, the tickets are not tied to the DDP at all, they are completely separate, you'll pay for the DDP for those nights at check-in.

The value stay on cash will require you to follow whatever requirements there are for a ticket/DDP package, and it will be separate from the DVC stay.

The DDP for the first stay will expire at midnight on the day that you change resorts, and the value stay DDP will go into effect the moment you check-in at the value resort, so you may have one day in the middle of your stay with a few extra dining credits.

Switching is easy - you just check out at AK and check in at value. Disney will transfer luggage if you do not want to being it yourselves. You will NOT be able to get tickets and dining combined, however. The dining package must be purchased for each separate stay and cannot be combines for two stays. You could buy tickets good for the entire length of stay, but to buy a dining package you will need tickets for at least one nite of the stay.

No, the two stays are entirely separate from the point of view of packages. You can buy tickets long enough to cover the entire trip at the beginning, but dining needs to be tied to the number of nights you are staying on any single reservation at any single resort.

I never do this, but it is relatively simple. Just pack your bags and call bell services at your first resort, and tell them you are moving to a second one. They will move the bags for you---it may take a while, but it will happen.

You mean like having the Deluxe plan for one stay and the standard (or even no plan) for the second? That isn't a problem, both stays are completely separate.

The DVC owner you rent the AKV reservation from will need to tie whatever DDP you want into the reservation with Member Services, then you just pay for it at check-in.

The cash stay at the Value resort is separate, and if traveling during the right season, may even be eligible for free dining.

As others have said, each trip will be completey different and there own.

If you want to be on the DDP for both stays, you can do that. Hwever, to get it with the stay at the value, you must purchase a package that includes tickets.

If your DVC stay is before you check in to the value and start that package, then you will have purchase tickets to cover that part of the trip.

If the package you do at the value happens before the DVC trip, then you can just do a 10 day ticket, and it would cover both parts of the trip as the DDP can be added to points stays without a ticket requrement.

In part it depends on HOW you are getting the AKV option. If it's an exchange or rental from a member, you can get the DDP as noted for that portion only. If it's through CRO, there may be other requirements.
