Time Savers...IN the attraction?

I notice quite a few people say that it doesn't matter, but I'm with you. I do the same thing. I don't push people out of the way, but if it's possible to be where we will exit I do it. RNRC and TOT I try to get as close as possible to the opening door. As someone else said, in theater type seating a I find a row where I can go all the way to the right.

Don't be that person who runs to the door in the stretch room. We get that you've done it before. It messes up the loading process of the room and slows things down. Frustrating for the CM. Some people (not everyone) tend to talk about "that's the door" which ruins it for people who don't know and people who know but like to enjoy the magic. Just have fun. No problem with trying to get close to the door while still filling in all the available space and moving towards the back of the room. Just don't talk about it and don't make it obvious. ToT they sort of encourage you to go towards the door. That one isn't a big deal

I'll go right to the door - so what? It does not mess up the loading at all, as it gets me in and to the side. I'm not standing in the middle like those lumps that have to be told to move all the way in.

Do people really think there is no way out? For real? Of course there is a door. People just came through a door. So what if you know where it is - it has to be somewhere, doesn't it?

Also - it can take over 5 minutes for the last people from one load to get on the doom buggy. We've been in there when it took over 10 minutes. We've also been in there when they've let the second room in when the first room hasn't started to load. It really does pay to be one of the first out of the room then.

Eh, I can understand why people would want to exit quicker, and all that. There's so much to do, and you want to get to it. As long as you're not shoving people out of the way, or otherwise 'ruining' the magic for other people, more power to you.

The only time I saved time while in-line was by total accident. Before fastpass, there was a left and right walkway/line for Splash Mountain at one point, and you could just pick whatever one you wanted (they went to the same place). For whatever reason, people gravitated to the right, so there was a lot less people in the left lane. Actually, I wonder now if maybe people didn't realize it was another line because of how unoccupied it was? Either way, my sister and I went down the left path to see if it was a line, and a bunch of people clapped for us and said "You're the first people to do that in 10 minutes!". So, we did get a bit of a break on our wait time. lol

Exactly! There's nothing "magical" about the experience of having to wait in line...especially if you're pushing to get through the narrower and narrower funnel in Haunted Mansion. If anything, it's more magical to walk directly to the doombuggies, so the story line is more fluid.

I understand this view for the HM, but in the ToT library, there's so much interesting stuff the look at, and seek out hidden Mickeys on your own, that you're missing a lot of the experience if you always head to the far door every time you go.

I always hang back when the lift door opens at Phantom Manor in DLP. I like to walk along the corridor and look at the scary pictures and also try to wait long enough so when i get in the doom buggy no riders are either side of me.
(This is off season).

I often go through the entrance tap style at Rope Drop, then run over and stand close to the park exit so I can be ready to get out quickly when the park closes.

No wonder your message count is so high ;)

Clearly you just don't understand what I'm saying.. It does slow things down. One group stops before the back and then others follow behind them creating a gap and messing up the flow. Obviously no one thinks there aren't any doors because you walked in through a door. Doesn't mean they all know there is another door and it doesn't mean you can ruin the magic and the fun for others by talking about it. Do you walk up to children exiting Peter Pan and tell them "you weren't really flying"?

Plus, anytime I see people run to the door and make a spectacle when I'm working the stretch rooms, I try to stand in their way and slow them down because they think they're smarter than everyone else.

To be clear, I'm not saying it messes up the loading of the ride. It messes up the loading of the stretch room. I'm not saying its a bad thing to get the advantage. I'm asking that you don't make a scene out of it and brag about how you know where the door is. By no means am I saying you do this but SOME people tend to run to the door, announce that they've found it, tell friends, lean on it, etc. Again, not saying its you. You can tell when people do it respectfully just because they understand the process and when people thing they're smarter.

Plus, for example, in the case of Haunted Mansion, I stand near the Tightrope lady, but not to the point where my back is against the wall, which would cause a delay in the show. And I don't see how this would ruin the experience either. I still have a great view and enjoy the entire stretching room scene, but I just remove the uncomfortable pushing and shoving that ensues when a room full of people have to funnel down to a single file line to board the doom buggies.

What you do is fine. There are respectful ways of doing and there are disrespectful ways. I understand gaining the advantage. I just don't like when people make a big deal about it. Let the show go on. Id probably like to have 70 of you in every stretch! lol

If you prefer to stand near the door (which I do), just walk over to the door & stand quietly. I've never seen anyone "scolded" (I use that term loosely) by a CM for doing so. However, when you feel the need to say, "Hey Timmy, look at the red lights, that's the DOOR," you're a jerk.
