Because I live in Pittsburgh, I've spent many an hour in the shops within the airport & can attest to the fact that we have one of the nicest airports in terms of shopping. Prices are very reasonable. If you're going to have to layover, PIT is one of the nicer airports to have to do it at!

You may not believe me,
but after travelling back to Germany from MCO via PIT in 1999 we became so fond of the Airmall, that we intentionally booked our return flight to Frankfurt for October 2001 via PIT to do some last-minute shopping.
