Time Interval to call when "walking" a Reservation?

I am planning to walk a reservation and would appreciate some advice on the time interval to call in order to drop and add a day.

If you get the reservation "locked in" for a 7-day period, how often would you need to call MS in order to do the drop and add. I believe some people do this daily, but have also read where it could be done every few days.

First, walking is generally unneccessary except possibly for a Grand Villa or AKV concierge.

Second, those who walk will usually call daily and drop and add a day until they have what they want. As to doing it less than daily see my first point above as to why doing it less than daily will still get you what you want.

Just be sure to call before the 11 month window opens for the 8th night. No one except you can book the 8th night until that window opens.

Walking only works for the 11 month window (assume that is what you are doing). It is of no value for 7 month reservations.

Thanks, I think I have it. So if I have booked May 1 - May 8 (7 nights), then I need to call on June 7 in order to drop some of the front days and add more to the end. For example, I could call on June 7 and drop May 1-6, keeping May 7 and then book May 8 - May 13 (six more nights). Is this correct?
