I had made a 6:30pm PS at the 60 day mark for our trip in April. The calendar of events shows the Sat., April 12 Fantasmic! showing at 8:30 pm and 10pm. We have two young kids so the 10 pm show is too late. We are not going to do the Fantasmic Package (too expensive with all of our other meals). My concern is am I cutting the time at 6:30 too close to get a good seat at Fantasmic? I just called and checked to see if they had anything earlier and all they had was 4:10 pm. Even though that is an early dinner, I will take that one if you all who have been don't think we can get a great seat by going at 6:30. Thanks so much!

Why rush yourself and be disappointed. I vote- take the early PS and get a snack either at the show or after it. We usually do a Fantasmic pkg at the Brown Derby and ask for the first available dinner seating (I think around 4:00).

Does anyone know what other restaurants offer the Fantasmic Package? We're considering it for this next trip. (April 5-13) Is it worth the money? How do they usher you into the arena after dinner, and where do you get to sit?

Thanks for the replies!

So far I think the trial package runs to the end of March (may be extended again). Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose and Brown Derby currently offer it. There is a separate entrance by Oscars
that takes you down a long and winding road to your seats. You can go anytime prior to the show (they suggest at least 1/2 hr). The seats are not that great - they are to the far left last section if you are facing the stage. It's always a toss up. Sometimes you can get better seats if it's not too crowded but at least you don't have to wait 1-1/2 in line.

I read that after March 31st, you can book the old fantasmic pkg but you have to do it in person, up to 7 days in advance either through guest relations at your resort or at the Studios. Info from Deb's site (wdwig).

Previously, we made a priority seating for one of the Fantasmic restaurants (Brown Derby) in advance, and changed it to Fantasmic pkg when we checked in-no problem.

Since you are not going to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package and the second show is too late for your young children, I'd like to suggest another option for dinner.

To get a decent seat for Fantasmic during crowded times (and since there are two shows on 4/12, Disney is expecting crowds that evening), you really need to get into line about 90 -120 minutes ahead of show start. That's a long time for little ones to sit. My advice is to grab some take out/counter food for dinner that night and spend part of the wait time eating. Save the nice restaurant dinner reservation for another time.

Enjoy your trip!
