Well who went for a swim. I did but it was in the 70's and 80's. I miss being able to swim in the lake.

I swam in the the lake and y'all know I haven't bee right in the head since.;)

lets see I'm still kicking 10 toe's 8 fingers2 thumbs, and OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.:scared1::scared1:

I swam a whole half mile in Bay Lake last September. I was in a triathlon and was neither first nor last, so I was banking on the alligators, otters, etc. going after people either in front or behind me. Somehow I dodged the bacteria too. That race was the highlight of the whole trip. I'd do it again in a flash.

I remember when that was the only place to swim at FW. So we swam there quite a bit. Of course in those days, you could also pool hop, so for a special treat we would ride the boat to the CR and hop in the pool. Loved the beach at FW though. Still do. Lots of memories there.

I swam in Bay Lake many, many, many times. At River Country, the Fort and other resorts as well, which could really explain a lot!

I swam in the lake in River Country when it was open. I believe it was the mid 1970's :confused3

I swam in the lake in the early 90's. We were staying at the Poly and at the time you could swim at their beach also.

I swam in Bay Lake at the beach at the Fort in the 70's and 80's. Also, River Country until it closed. On our honeymoon in 1980 was swam in the lake at The Contemporary. Our kids did also and they are relatively normal. Whatever normal is.:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

Many times from the beach and at River Country back in the late '80s and early 90s. My kids spent a LOT of time in that water!

Swam in it all the time until they closed it. However; I saw a woman letting her two kids swim in it in the evening during my May trip. Probably safer than swimming in the Gulf right now off Orange, Perdido, Pensacola, or Gulf Shores.

Swam in the lake as a teenager in the 70's.

Swam at River Country in the late 70's and 80's and early 90's.

Sailed in Hobie Regattas on the lake in the late 80's and took a couple of unexpected dips.

Count me in many times at FW beach matter of fact I can safely say I have swam at all the majors up to about 1994!

I am happy to report that every member of the TCD gang got to swim in Bay Lake, and River Country.

Toward the end, I remember that there were warning signs about not going under water because of the risk of parasites.

I also swam at the Polynesian Resort and the Contemporary Resort's beaches.

Even at the Grand Floridian, too!

And, at Wilderness Lodge, too. Yes, there was a beach where swimming was allowed there. At least I can attest that there was one there in 1994.

Been there done that ...got the Fort Addiction to prove it. and this itch down around my.... sorry TMI

I were able to be swum in the lake called Bay when us were in the CR in the 70's. and I are a college gardjuate.

Only kidding, swam in the lake quite a few times, if you include River Country.

Swam in the lake at River Country. Loved it.
