Time for a new character meal?

Bring on the character meals!! The more the better as far as I am concerned. I am kinda bummed that there aren't many left we haven't already done and I would LOVE to see Toy Story, P & F and a Pirates meal!! Those would rock and I would do all 3! Good ideas!! ;)

They need something for boys in the 8-10 yo area. Star Wars dining would fit the bill and be hugely popular.

Or how about a huge character dining place based on the House of Mouse show? Show some cartoons. Have random characters on stage and in the dining area.

it's kinda funny that a number of people here are calling for the end of Holywood & Vine Clubhouse Disney character meal ... and our next trip (later this year) we will have a pre-schooler with us and I was excited to see this option. She love's Manny and Oso so think it will be fun

Maybe they could just add in Phineas and Ferb / Freshbeat Band / etc. to this so that the little kids and somewhat older kids both have options there

We did several character meals a couple of months back with my 3 year old and 9 year old son. Hollywood and Vine was their favorite. Even the 9 year old who acted like he was too cool for everything had a blast.

Am I correct that there are no character meals with Pixar characters? If so, I wonder if it has to do with some contractural agreement with Pixar. Otherwise I can't believe that Disney would ignore such a great potential for revenue. I'll bet a lot of people would love to see a Toy Story character meal, especially when you consider that there have been 3 Toy Story movies and that the third was by far the top grossing movie of 2010 (at least I think that's the way I heard it, it made a lot of money anyways).

It's not a contractual thing with Pixar - they own it. Plus, the characters are all around, just not at a meal. The contractual problem lies with signatures/autographs somehow. That is why Woody and Buzz use a stamp.

I'm pretty sure I have Woody's actual signature (from more than one trip), but yes Buzz does use a stamp.

But since he uses that in the parks, what difference would it be to use at a meal? More inconvenient, yes, but a character handler could easily stay near them with the stamp.

I have been wishing for a Toy Story character meal for many years. I think another great idea would be a villians meal.

VILLIAN MEAL MY #1 CHOICE
tiana's palace also a good choice for liberty tree tavern
i like the phineas and ferb angles too...
cant have too much character dining IMO

I would love to eat at a Toy Story character buffet as would my daughter and husband! I think dinner with the villians would be fun as well. Maybe it is more of an adult thing but it sounds like it would be hilarious.

When we went on the Nickelodeon cruise, every character signature was a stamp. The kids took pictures with the character and knew to go to the handler for the stamp.

I'd love to see Hollywood & Vine with Phineas and Ferb and keep Manny and Oso. That way it would appeal to the preschool kids and the older kids. Both of my kids would be thrilled with that.

A Star Wars meal would be great too!

I like the suggestions for Hollywood and Vine about mixing the characters. They could even keep the playhouse disney breakfast and add different characters for dinner. And Star Wars, duh, I posted earlier and did not even think of this lol. Don't they own Marvel now? A superhero dinner would be cool!

For the PP that suggested a House of Mouse theme. That would be so cool. We used to watch it when it was on t.v. I wish it was still on insted of some of the other shows they have on.

i don't think they need MORE character meals. i just think they need variety. Mickey can be found at so many places that it makes it less special.

and i have a DD. she was over princesses LONG ago (she's nine). both of my kids would flip over a toy story OR pixar-themed meal.

and i agree with the PP about House of Mouse. that show was a HUGE favorite in this house. my DD now watches old episodes on youtube.

i'd love a villains meal. i know that some sensitive children would hate it. my kids would be fine. but i can just hear the people complaining about how scary it was for their kids, etc.

definitely a toy story/pixar one!!! at Hollywood and Vine. Get rid of the playhouse disney one. especially since the characters are outdated there.

a peter pan, captain hook, tinker bell and mr smee meal would be awesome

as would a pirates of the Caribbean meal. Really I think there should be more Jack Sparrow in the parks in the way of meetings!!!! :lovestruc

As the mom of two boys I think Disney is missing the boat in these areas. We have just as much money to burn as the mommies of princesses do :cutie:

Thank you! I was just telling my husband the other night, that now that WDW has figured out their gold mine with the princesses for girls, it is time they start putting it time & money for the boys.

Toy Story character meal would be great. Also, Phineas & Ferb. My son loves them, I love them, DH loves them! Who doesn't love P&F?!?
