TIME Estimate for lunch at Blue Bayou?

I have reservations for lunch at Blue Bayou -- approximately how much time should I expect in my day for that? I know every family eats/relaxes at a different speed... but an estimate could be helpful :)

My fiance and I ate there for lunch a few weeks ago and it took us about an hour. We did not have dessert and we didn't sit around chatting for long after we paid the bill.

It also depends on whether you're planning on requesting a water side table or not. For my family (all adults), a lunch also takes between 60 and 75 minutes (no dessert). We usually make a reservation for the first seating so we can get a waterside table with minimal wait.

I would say it is usually a slow pace at BB but you will not regret the time there. Its a very relaxing break.

I would schedule 90 minutes to remove all stress; if you have another activity after.

I just looked at the time stamps on my photos from April. From the picture I took as they called us from the waiting area to the picture I took of the bill at the end was 54 minutes. We didn't get apps or dessert. Just the bread course, salad and entrees. We had an 11:30 reservation and got there early to ask about a water table. They ended up seating us around 11:15.

We have a 11:40 as we couldn't get a 11:30. Is it possible to check in early and request a waterside table or do all the 11:30 times get them?

I agree with this time estimate. Check in will probably be 10 to 15 mins.

We got there early (30 minutes) for a 12:30 lunch to save a water side table. The hostess said we couldn't request waterside table until 10 minutes before our reservation. We just shopped around in the area for those 20 minutes and they were able to get us the table we wanted. From being seated to walking out the door it took us less than an hour. We did have our free anniversary dessert but no appetizers. And can I add that it was probably some of the best food we've ever had. Expensive but so good. I had the Tesoro Island Chicken and Gumbo and my husband had the Herb Marinated Flat Iron and Gumbo.

We had an 11:30am reservation as well to minimize the wait time for a waterside table. We got there about 15 min early and were able to put the request in at that time. I was not told I had to wait until 10 min before my reservation time to make the request, so show up early and see what happens. Different CMs may do things differently. But from what I've read, they are able to get people seated at waterside tables relatively close to your reservation time if you show up early and put your request in. Even if you end up having to wait a little bit, it's worth the wait! I was there with my three kids (14, 19, 20). We had an appetizer and two of us had dessert and we were out of there in 75 min without feeling like we rushed at all. I've had excellent service there every time, without fail.

Ate there last on Easter. Got in with 10 minutes of ADR (which is fast in our experience) and dinner lasted about 60 minutes (seating to leaving). I would block off 90 minutes for checking in to leaving. Sometimes the check in locations have been packed with people not just checking in but trying to get an ADR.

BTW - our dinner was great and loved the location. We we go back!
