Time Difference from Florida

Please save my confused mind . . . please!

I know we are usually 5 hours ahead of Florida time-wise, when we are on British summer time.

But I cannot get my head around what we are at the minute!!! Are we 4 or 6 hours ahead?! I need to get on line and book my cruise trips soon – they load them all onto the system at 12am Eastern time – so will that be 4am or 6am here?

Please help – I have addled my poor, pitiful, brain completely and can think about it no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are 5 hours ahead at the moment - the only time we aren't is the period between when they alter their clocks and when we do ours.

They change on 8th March so between then and 29th March they will only be 4 hours behind - it then reverts to 5 hours when we change our clocks.

We're still 5 hours ahead as the US also observes DST (daylight saving time) which is the equivalent of BST. Occasionally the changes differ from ours by a week or so - this year, for example, our clocks went back on 26th October with the US following suit on 2nd November.

I was the same, when we went at Easter in 2006.

Last year we went to New York on 31st Oct and flew back on 5th Nov-I was in a right mess!!

Its smart to ask as not everywhere does change the clocks. I believe out in Arizona they don't???

While we're on the subject of this...when are they changing their clocks in oct this year??

We go out on the 23rd Oct and come back on 13th Nov, so wondered if anyone knew off hand?

As last time we were out in over halloween we didnt know about the clock changes so got totally messed up!! x
