Time Budget

How long does it take you to drive to WDW.....and of course where are you driving from? We will be driving for the first time and were looking for an actual estimate...not an mapquest one. We are 1 hour from Memphis Tenn. If that helps anyone. Our route has us going through Birmingham and around Atlanta.

I am about 2-1/2 hours from Memphis. I live on the edge of Mississippi and Tennesse in Alabama. It takes us anywhere from 10 to 12 hours driving.

Hi Eeyore1928 - I am about an hour from you in Osceola, Ar. We have driven it two different ways, and it takes about 16 hours each time. Once, when it was just me and my son, we stopped and spent the night halfway down. I guess two adults could do it in one day, swapping up the driving.

I live Chatt TN it takes 10 hours to Orlando.

Piece of advice watch for Georgia State patrol and Cobb County Police.

Road construction and weather can make a huge difference. Your family makeup does, too. It always seems to take us forever to get anywhere. Too many rest area stops, I guess.

From Knoxville, we spent 13 1/2 hours last time going down. The time prior to that was the Saturday after Christmas and it was MUCH longer because of heavy traffic and a couple of wrecks.

Twenty-six hours, which is why we fly. We drove it once 14 years ago.

We are in West Texas. It takes the better part of the first day (10 - 12 hours depending on road construction, traffic, etc...) just to get out of Texas.

Go to Mapquest.com and have them plot it out. That should tell you exact miles and hours (assuming no traffic problems of course). Also, if you belong to AAA call and ask for a Trip Tix for the trip. They will send you maps all highlighted with the route..........P

OOOPS Obviously I didn't read your post too closely. SORRY! But I have found mapquest to be pretty accurate...............P

We just went from Birmingham via Atlanta to WDW and it took us 9 hours.

12-13 Hours from the Nashville area. Did it once and have flown everytime since. Takes 1 hr and 15 min by plane. The only way to go!
