US $ is accepted pretty much everywhere in Cayman BUT be aware that
$1 US is 80 cents CI
or your US $10 is $8 CI
your US $20 is $16 CI {easy to remember: she may look 20, but is 16 CI }
most prices especially in restaurants will be in CI
So a $4 beer is $5 US .....
burger $8CI is $10 US .... plus tip, and if you use a credit card many places add the tip AUTOMATICALLY .... at 15% CI ....
here's a typical menu if curious about my price estimates

time ..... geographically Grand Cayman is due south of Key West and shares the eastern time zone. If you cruise from Florida you too depart from the eastern time zone and should be on the same time BUT
CI does not recognize Daylight Savings Time ..... SO when DST is in effect for the US, there is a 1 hour time difference in Cayman ASSUMING you left from the east coast
does this impact you? depends on when your cruise is!
how does the ship handle this? YOU MUST KNOW SHIP TIME .... IME if Cayman is on different time, there will be REPEATED ANNOUNCEMENTS to stay on SHIP TIME.
