Tim Tebow

Wow...this thread's going south, lol.

I doubt Tim Tebow has these same feelings that are displayed here. Fans tend to make things far worse than it really is.
Was there much of a chance the Broncos would win yesterday? I didn't think there was but maybe there was more than I thought. Not a doubt in my mind that Brady is the better quarterback. (of course, Peyton was better than him but... ;) ) (Was may be the key word, yikes!)

I do not think people should compare two people's goodness like this. In the grand scheme, goodness doesn't matter anyway (and this thread is a clear indication of why!!!!)

If Tebow was really dedicating his life to serving others I would think he would not be a football player. He can certainly do good things while being one and using the money for others but I have a hard time phrasing it "dedicating his life to serving others." JMHO

And if I'm picking pro football teams (I like college better), I'm a Bears fan. :O

Tim has actually addressed this. He says that football gives him the money and fame to reach more people. His father has said that he asked God for a preacher, but he gave him a QB, and he considers the footbal field his mission field.

Anyway, to the person who called me a troll. As a GO on a BBC board, the best advice I can give you is to DER. Don't feed the trolls.:thumbsup2

I just hope he never gets into anything remotely questionable...the media will rip him apart.

English please. :flower3:

But seriously your over the top posts are seeming quite trollish. Unless maybe you are his mom. ;)

Do you know him personally?

I think he's a rookie(practically) QB on a bad team who has way too much pressure on him. I think what he needs is to be traded to New England, where they have a decent QB already and there is no need for him to start.

My, how things change. :lmao:

Of course he has addressed this. I'm sure it is an often asked question. I figured out the answer on my own and I was right, :thumbsup2:laughing:

The guy enjoys football--that's no sin. I'm glad to see him do good with all that money. Football will be short lived in the whole of his life--football takes a rough toll on the body and mind. He has a whole life ahead of him after football to really "dedicate himself to serving others"--if that's what he decides to do. I think Tebow seems like a really nice guy but it is important for people (general) to remember to he is just a man, he will and does screw up and please don't put your faith in him.

Is that your granddaughter? She's a cutie!

I don't know Bono or Paris Hilton. I think it's safe to deduce who the better person is there.

Tim's actions say everything. He's done more for others in his 24 years than most NFL players in their entire career(including Tom Brady). No one who knows him has bad thing to say about the man. There are plenty of people of people(who actually know him) willing to say a few unkind things about Tom Brady, even on this thread. Just compare the way they treat opponents while mic'd up. How does Tom beat Tim on any account? I suppose Tom is more savvy with the ladies, but is that the measure of a man? As far as my credibility, I never said I was a better person than anyone. I said Tim Tebow was a better person than Tom Brady and most NFL players.

I don't really care about either of them but your posts come off on the bitter side, almost obessed-like and do nothing to further your argument. It is tough to take you seriously when you post things like "more savy with the ladies".

It is the credibility of your arguments that i am talking about, not your own credibility. I don't know you from a hole in the ground.

There is no doubt that if Manning can't come back from this injury that the NFL will have lost one of the best. I hate to admit it because it turns my stomach but even as a Pats fan I would agree with you that a healthy Manning is slightly better than a healthy Brady only because Manning is basically the Offensive Coordinator and QB. But I'd be ok with either on my team and they are both first ballot Hall of Famers.

IMHO Tebow will be a middle of the road at best QB in the NFL, IMO he is the new Vick. (strictly speaking from a QB perspective not how he conducts himself obviously) Run First-Pass Second QBs will never win on a consistent or long term basis in the NFL because what happened to Tebow yesterday happens to them all, they get too far behind and mistakes start happening. They lose their sense of pocket presence and pull down too soon and take off with no where to go, or in the wrong direction. Unless of course Tebow grows and breaks the mold and starts completing more that 50-60% of his throws and finds some comfort in the pocket. Good NFL teams are going to start adjusting to the scheme, Tebow needs to become a NFL passer, yesterday he showed some glimmer of being able to do that but it fell apart fast once the Pats D settled in.

Yes! The one on the left. ;)

And thank you! Not the best picture (DD said that DGD doesn't LIKE the flash...sheesh!) but the two of them look cute in their Pats outfits. :thumbsup2

Her cuteness shines thru anyway! And they do look cute--even in Pats stuff. (sorry, just not a Pats fan--I'm a Giants fan)

I've always thought NE was going to pick him and they never had any clue he was going that high. Bilichek had visited him in Florida and the whole Urban connection.

I did, too. That's why I found it so hysterical that people are trying to make out like Brady has some beef with Tebow. I think Tebow even went there for a visit.

My niece and her DH and SIX KIDS are huge Manning/Colts fans. (It's been a rough year for them. ) One year they sent a Christmas card with the whole family wearing Manning jerseys. I told her I was going to photoshop Brady jerseys onto them and send it back. :teeth: ;)

BTW, her twin sister, her DH, and 3 kids are diehard Giants fans. I don't discuss football with either group. LOL

and honestly it would have been the best thing for him...but oh well. I am anxous to see what Elway does, I'm guessing he is getting rid of him. I know he said he was going to work with him, but I just think he is appeasing the media/fans....it doesn't add up, why give away Lloyd? But I guess we'll see. I know one thing the kid is money!

He could work with him and then unload him. Yeah, I just don't see him in Denver for the long term. Will be an interesting off season.

Money, indeed! :thumbsup2

OMG, MaryAnn, she's beautiful! I can even overlook the Pats jersey. ;)

I dont think so. Even though many of us see the success of the team as other then Tebow, we do have to acknowledge the leadership skills and how he united an otherwise divided team.

If they make the playoffs after being considered dead before Tebow started playing, I think you will see Tebow next year.

Additionally, Tebow will have more preseason and post season work to convert him to an NFL QB.

When I look at Tebow, I see someone who can be molded into a QB, and consider this. With his size, and strength, he would be much like Roethlesberger in extending plays.

If Tebow learns to throw like a NFL QB, he will be as devastating on avoiding the rush and sacks as Ben does.

I wasn't the one who initially used charity as measure a goodness. Pick anything else with regards to character, and Tim makes most of us look pathetic. Of course, Tim would never measure himself against anyone else. He's too humble.

:confused3

Ok, let's compare the amount of charity work Tom had done at 24 with what Tim has done. Considering Tim spent his signing bonus on famine charities within 24 hours and has been working working with orphans since he was pretty much out of the womb I'm not sure you even want to go there.

Emma, I'm not a religious person myself, but I can be fairly certain enough to say that we should not measure one another in the manner in which you've done above.

It goes beyond a simple admiration for the man, himself. Opinions being expressed in this thread have extended into some sort of (false?) idol worship that I would imagine would not be endorsed by Tim, or other such persons that subscribe to the same belief system as he does.
