I couldn't find a thread on the show and since its so awesome...we should start a thread!popcorn::

Did anyone see the last one with the lady who was obsessed with getting a luxury car and luxury this and that? She freaked out when Gail moved them into an apartment. Didn't they have trouble even making minimum payments on credit cards?! Craaaaazy:upsidedow

I love that show! It's a Saturday night must-watch for me (which shows how boring I am!). I am always amazed about how much people overspend each month and don't even realize it.

For the uninitiated, the show is on CNBC on Saturday nights at 10pm, right after the Suze Orman show. It's about a financial expert who goes to people's houses and teaches them to budget and live within their means.

We love Gail!

I have not seen that episode but I have a few on DVR to watch. It is on a few times per week. We DVR all of them. It is either 4 or 5 episodes per week.

I am still waiting to see a family that gets $0. We saw one that got $1000. She said she wanted to give them $0 but figured they were not the worst she would see.

:rotfl: Oh, I could just hear Gail say that! Tough love sometimes.

oh i love it. she calls them out on all their bad behavior. i saw one where she made a couple carry around a tv for a week. some people need tough love though, there was one i saw with a couple that had loaned thousands of dollars from their parents but were going to clubs and ordering bottle service every weekend.

We love Gail in our house! We Tivo it every Saturday and I usually watch it on Sunday while DD naps. To get our spending under control we even started using jars! Since DH and I started watching the show almost 2 years ago we've really gotten our debt under control since we don't want to appear as crazy as the people on the show :lmao: Gail's show helped us get our act in gear and pay off some serious loans we took out from a business we had. This helped take a lot of stress out of our marriage and I'm happy to say we are a lot happier and closer as a couple as a result of watching her show.

I thought I saw a show about a year ago where she did not award the couple any money AT ALL!! The woman immediatley turned on the camera crew and told them to get out of her house. I guess she had never watched the show before, because she and her husband didn't really follow through any of the challenges so it wasn't unexpected.

Yes, I like watching that show, too. I haven't seen the "luxury car" episode yet.

I always feel better about myself after watching that show because I feel I'm not as bad as those people!! lol.

I wish there was a website where she had all of her information available. I would love to have Gail work out a budget and debt repayment plan for me!

I love that show! My husband stays up for me on Saturday nights and we watch the midnight showing when I get home from work. Gail tells it like it is...I wish we had a show like this in our country! (It is filmed in Canada).

I love this show! My dh doesn't like tv very much, but he enjoys this show too. We only started watching it a few months ago and I don't recognize many of the episodes referenced here - it sound like we've got some catching up to do!

We usually watch it earlier on Saturday night - around 7:00? Maybe that's why we don't catch it very often.

Love this show. Always a Sat. night must see. I really love it when the people don't get the $5k at the end. They act like they were entitled to it just for going on the show. But, they refuse to do the challenges and have horrible attitude through the whole thing. I always wonder "haven't they seen the show before?".

I too am a fan of the show and DVR it every Saturday night. I have seen that episode and all I can think is that those people are going to wind up losing what they do have in the long run because they never seemed to fully understand that they had a problem. :confused3

drinkme- Her website does have a lot of her information. She has a spreadsheet you can use to create your own budget. Her website is www.gailvazoxlade.com. My husband & love her blog!

Thank you for posting this! I looked a few months ago online and just found info about the tv show. I'm going to check out her site now.

Thanks again! :)

Does this show have average families on it?
I remember watching this show a couple of years ago. One couple made several hundred thousand dollars a year and spent foolishly. I never watched again because I assumed it was always about ridiculously foolish spending high income people.

Is there any place to watch this show online? I went onto the Slice website, but none of the videos would load. Maybe it's because I'm in the US and that's a Canadian website.

Ohh, I would love to see this show. However, we don't have cable so if anyone knows if you can watch it on line please share. I checked hulu with no luck.

But I agree with the pp, if it is all about people who make plenty and spend foolishly, then I can't get into it. Im looking for real information for people who barely scrape by and doing their best and need motivation.

Dh always says first we watch Susie and feel bad, she would never say we can afford vacation, then we watch "Til Debt Do Us Part", and feel like we are doing wonderful, no debt but the house, and that is being prepaid.

I just saw this one. Those people learned NOTHING. The worst was the end of the show: Gail asked them if they'd called their parents to come clean about their debt (because they were borrowing from their parents and keeping secrets), and they swore that they'd done it . . . but then she explained that SHE had talked to their parents only the night before, and she knew it was a lie. The woman kept trying to lie, and Gail said, "I have it on tape." It ended with the woman saying, "Everybody out!", which I took to mean that the cameras were to get out.

I don't see those two getting any better.

They don't seem to get it, do they? I mean, she'll show them a list of things and say, "You earn X and you're spending 2X every month", and they act like she's just illustrated an exercise in quantum physics. It's addition, folks. You KNOW how to do it. You just didn't bother.
