Do you like the origianal version or the new version of the Tiki Room? and why?

I like both of them but the original is still my favorite.:mickeybar

I voted for the original version. I just feel like it had a better storyline, plus I don't think it was as frightening. I took my cousin's girls in there two years ago (age 2 & 4 at the time) and parts of it made them pretty scared.

I don't remember much about the original version, but I find that one of the new owners' voice to be a little annoying. Is it Yago or Zazoo with the fingernails across a blackboard voice?

BTW I still love the Tiki Room with the new storyline even with the parrot. I guess all the kids have seen Aladin and Lion King, so the owners and new music did update the show.

I chose the original version, I especially prefer the music from the old one. I enjoy the new one too, just not nearly as much.

Definately the original! I can't stand the new version or the actor who plays the voice of the new owner. He has to have one of the most annoying voices on the planet. The attraction used to be so charming - now it's downright obnoxious.

Definitely the old one!I agree that the voice of the new owner is incredibly grating, and the whole thing is just too loud. Too bad because DH and I both love the Tiki Room itself.

I'm an original fan myself, though still will set through the newer version, at least they sing part of the "Tiki Room" song at the begining!! FWIW, the annoying voice of Yago is that of Gilbert Godfried's.

The origianl Tiki Room is still at DL. Hopefully they will not change that one.

I guess I have to go with original, since I haven't seen the newer version yet. :p

Old version all the way! The DL Tiki Room is under much-needed refurbishment until March 05, but the show is supposed to remain the same.

Where is the poll option for neither? I am sorry, but I have to say that I think this is one of the most annoying attractions at WDW. The old version and new version are equally annoying. I hope I have not too badly offended all of you "tiki room" fans!

I loved the old Tiki Room, but I still enjoy the new show. I remember that people use to always walk out early during the old show. I guess it is was just not everyone's cup of tea. I don't notice as many people walking out on the new show. Maybe that's because it is tied in with Disney movies and kids and adults enjoy that more.

HATE the new version. What a joke. The music isn't timeless...it's a disgrace.

Please Disney - if you're listening - bring back the Tiki Birds as Walt intended them.

The Tiki Room is one of my favorites, I get sad every time I hear rumor that it is closing.

I personally like the original better although we do go to the new version. The Tiki Goddess does scare my little ones but they like the music and are facinated with the birds and flowers that talk.

We have a Disney CD with the old version and all my kids can sing along, they did get a bit confused the first time they went since it wasn't the same as in Mommy's car.

I have a lot of nostalgia for the original, it was the first attraction that DW and I experienced together at WDW. But I think I prefer the humor of the new version.

Stay until the very end, and you'll hear Iago talk about how tired he is, and mention that he's going over to the Hall of Presidents to take a nap!

I have to agree with BLANGs post; Neither. Unfortunately though, and probably fortunate for you, I can't figure out how to become authorized to vote in
the poll.....Yeah, I'm a relative newbie
to this board with 30 visits under my belt
to WDW since '96.

I prefer the original much better, but we always go see the new version when we are at WDW. The Tiki Room is a classic!!!

I didn't know they were refurbishing DL's Tiki Room. It will be good to see it all cleaned up--as long as they don't change it!!!
