Tiggerific04's DFTW Trip Report 8/10-8/25

You looked beautiful on your wedding day. I love your flowers!

Randy got some great shots. And you MK photos are wonderful.

I'm sorry Lisa was so over bearing. Its a shame she had to make an issue of your hair and make up on your wedding day.

Erin,

You look absolutely incredible in your wedding pics!!! I love the color of the pink in your bouquet. I think you made a good decision in the dress you went with - you can tell you're so happy in it and really comfortable wearing it. You and DH look so happy together, it's wonderful :goodvibes

Congrats!

Your TR is one of the best I have ever read! I am really enjoying reading it!

Great TR so far! Sounds like Pastor Jaeger is a real sweetheart. It's wonderful that he did your ceremony exactly how you wanted it :)

All your pictures look wonderful!! There are so many good ones, it's going to be hard to choose which ones you want to put in albums! Your Epcot pictures are really cool. I just showed them to DH, who was very impressed. We were supposed to get some pics like that (since our wedding was in Epcot) but had to skip them because our WP screwed up the transportation and messed up our schedule. :(

Can't wait to read more...

You look beautiful!

Your report made me glad I'm not going to use Lisa.

Can't wait for more.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm really glad I didn't use Lisa for myself but it sucks that I had to use her at all (no one else was available). At least everyone was happy with how their hair and/or makeup came out.

your tr is great! to answer your question about tx...i do like it a lot, i've been here almost 4 years, but it took a full 2years for me to get used to tx! it's so different from the north, but all in all, much better. it gets really hot here in the summer, but i think it gets just as hot in nj, just not for long, in nj you have breaks from the heat and humidity, it's constant here. the lifestyle that you can have here is amazing!

can't wait to read more of your tr!!!!

Thanks! And thanks for the info about TX, I'm looking for a change but I think DH wants something sort of similar to NJ.

I love your TR! You look beautiful! I can completely relate to the bathroom issues...I'm getting nervous just thinking about it for my upcoming wedding. Glad to hear you liked Ana -- I'm using her, too.
Thank you for sharing all of the details! Love it! Keep it coming!

Jill
:)

Thanks Jill! I was so, so nervous about the bathroom issue but it turned out to not be nearly as bad as I ws expecting. I definitely needed help, but it was a lot easier than what I thought it would be. You'll do fine! And you'll love Ana -- I thought she was great! Just the right amount of conversation but still very professional.

Wow! I'm loving your trip report! I absolutely love all the pics and details! I'm excited about Ana being so good because she is doing my hair, my mother's hair and all of my BM's hair too. I do have one question for you though. Could you please tell me the info. that Maggie gave you about getting the paperwork filled out for the marriage license before you go? That would be a big help to DF and I. Thank you! I can't wait to read more!

Anna Marie:bride:

Thank you Anna Marie! Ana was fabulous, both her work and her personality.

We were originally going to do the marriage license through the mail, but then we decided to do it in person. You can print out the application from the Osceola Courthouse website: http://www.osceolaclerk.com/. The application is here: http://www.osceolaclerk.com/Marriage Application Form/Marriage License Form.pdf. We filled it all out and it made the process when we got to the courthouse that much faster. We just walked right up to the window, handed the woman our form and licenses, and we were out of there in 20 minutes!

I love your trip report. Don't think of it as being shiny you look like you are glowing:flower3:

Haha! I like the way you think!

You looked beautiful on your wedding day. I love your flowers!

I'm sorry Lisa was so over bearing. Its a shame she had to make an issue of your hair and make up on your wedding day.

Thank you! It's a shame about Lisa, but there's nothing I can do about it now, right?

Erin,

Congrats!

Thank you! I loved my dress and I definitely think it was the best choice. I would have been so uncomfortable in that big poofy dress.

Your TR is one of the best I have ever read! I am really enjoying reading it!

Aww, thank you!!!

Thanks! Pastor Jaeger was great -- I'm definitely glad I went with him and not Rev. Tim. Sorry to hear about your Epcot pics -- that stinks!

Yeah, you were definitely smart to switch from Rev. Tim. That was a source of stress for us. I never knew for sure whether we had a marriage license until I showed up for our wedding, and the whole ceremony was a complete surprise. It all pretty much went fine but was still nerve-wracking...

I haven't seen many brides mention Pastor Jaeger on here. Hopefully, you'll help future brides out with your positive review!! I love the detail in your TR. And all the pics!! Lots of fun popcorn::

Thank you so much for the information about the courthouse. It will make our trip there that much easier. I'm still waiting for more on your trip thoughtpopcorn:: You got me hooked!

I have finally got around to reading your entire TR so far. Erin, you looked beautiful and I love your MK pics. Your dress was just you, you must be so glad you bought this one.
Wasn't Randy just the greatest? I, like you just pretended he wasn't there for most of the time, I found I got better pictures for it, more natural and I think you got that too. I'm so glad Tanis was there for your wedding, she really was fantastic. You sound like you had a wonderful wedding day, I'm so jealous you got pics in the limo, my mom took some but they never came out, they are all blurred:confused3
You also seem to have received pixie dust, I'm so happy to hear when couples get this, I know Disney is magical alone, but that little bit extra is nice.
I am so looking forward to reading about Chef Mickeys on your wedding night, you should have some wonderful pics from that.
Congrats once again to you both, you both looked so happy in the pics:cloud9:

I would recommend Pastor Sig to anyone who is looking for a religious ceremony, specifically a Catholic one. We used the book Rev. Tim sent us to write our ceremony, but Pastor Sig did a fantastic job. My mother is super religious and even she was very impressed with him -- she's still going on about how great the ceremony was even now! And she was NOT happy when she found out we weren't getting married in the Church!

Thank you so much for the information about the courthouse. It will make our trip there that much easier. I'm still waiting for more on your trip thoughtpopcorn:: You got me hooked!

Anna Marie:bride:

No problem! Even though there wasn't a line in the courthouse, having the form filled out did save us some time and energy that day.

Hey Summer! I was actually a little disappointed in my Randy pics at first because I was comparing them to yours -- yours came out soooo good! We didn't really receive any "official" pixie dust -- no magical moments certificates or anything like that -- but we got so many "congratulations!" from cast members and other guests and it was just fantastic! It was so hard to leave and go home to real life where you can't wear bridal Mickey ears and get special treatment :rotfl: I can't wait to read more about your trip!!

Wedding Day Continued -- Tea

One more thing about Randy before I forget: I'm sure he does this with everyone, but I thought it was so cute and nice that he really used the words "husband" and "wife" a lot. Like, he would keep telling DH, "Ok, now take your wife's hand and stand like this." Stuff like that. I thought it was a nice touch :bg:

Anyway.

Ok, so! We arrived at the tea just as everyone else was seating themselves -- it went much smoother here than at Ohana. Our parents and MOH and MOHG sat at one table, while me, DH, his brothers, SIL, and the kids sat at the other. I felt kind of bad that MOH wasn't sitting with us, but I was also relieved that DH's mom had someone else to talk to since MOH knows enough Spanish to get her by in a conversation. It ended up working out just fine.

The Gardenview Lounge is adorable. I loved the whole atmosphere of it and even SIL said that she was going to go home and rub it in everyone's faces that she went to a REAL tea party, haha.

No one really knew what to order, so the server brought over the box with all of the tea in it so that we could smell them all. We had so much fun passing them all around! It's kind of like in Club Cool at Epcot, where you try to convince each other that the bad ones are really good, you know? We finally all decided what we wanted in terms of tea -- I had the Nobo Whole Fruit; DH, his oldest brother, SIL, and nephew had the Mad Hatter; and DH's other brother had the Jasmine White.

Our server suggested to one of us that we get the Buckingham Palace, which comes with tea sandwiches, scones, jam tarts, and pastries or strawberries and cream. Someone said ok and then we all decided to go for it, so we all had that and the kids had the Mrs. Potts Tea with ham/cheese sandwiches only.

My tea

photo170.jpg

SIL's tea

We voted, and the sandwiches were gross. There was a cucumber one, a shrimp one (this one was ok), a chicken one, a pear one, and something else I can't remember. None of us liked them, but DH's brother finished all of his anyway, lol. There was an onion tart on the plate as well that the server claimed was "to die for" but none of us really enjoyed it. We spent most of the meal laughing and making faces, so at least we had a good time.

photo173.jpg

After the sandwiches was the scones and jam tarts course. These were actually really good, but I didn't finish them because I was getting full and I was trying to save room for dinner and dessert.

photo174.jpg

Next was the pastry or strawberries course. DH had two chocolate eclairs, and the kids each had an eclair and I think a swan pastry... the rest of us had the strawberries. They were very fresh and very good and the cream was excellent.

photo175.jpg

I'm not sure what the other table had, except that my dad had a trifle and my mom had the tea sandwiches. They both thought everything was very good, so it's just a matter of taste and what you're used to. DH's mom didn't like any of it.

FG kept telling me to take a picture of her and her brother, but everytime I did she would make these weird faces:

photo172.jpg

RB is eating a gummy worm, although I'm not sure where he got it LOL

Here's a better one of FG:
photo176.jpg

We were all stuffed and it was about time for us to get going. We paid and then started to gather ourselves out in front of the restaurant. The plan was for DH, his brother, and my dad to drive back to Pop and pick up the other two cars. They would then all drive to the Contemporary and meet us at Chef Mickey's at 5pm for dinner. It was about 3:30pm at this point.

What actually happened is that I was dying in my dress and needed desperately to take off my crinoline and bra because I was having trouble breathing. My mom and I went to the bathroom where I peed again (much easier this time) and then I ripped off my undergarments, lol. Luckily we had an extra bag with us, so I shoved them in there and asked my mom to just leave it in her car for now. I felt sooo much better, although now my dress was significantly loose up top!

We went back to meet the group and DH and his brother had already left to go get the car. They were supposed to pick up my parents in front of the GF. I sat with MOH, MOHG, and SIL and we all talked and hung out. About 20 minutes later, my dad calls DH's cell phone (which I have for some reason) and says that he and my mom are still waiting out front. I tell him that we'll try calling DH's brother to find out what's going on. We can't get in touch with anyone, and we have no idea where they are, but my dad calls back a few minutes later and says that they're there now.

The rest of us decided we should start heading over to the CR so I ask our server from the Gardenview how to get to the monorail and she points us in the right direction. TONS of people in the lobby stopped to tell me congratulations and compliment my dress and everything. It was an amazing feeling!

We made it to the monorail and I'm sure we were quite a sight! All of us all dressed up amidst a bunch of people in shorts and tank tops! We got on the monorail, and one of the women in our car kept looking at me waiting for me to make eye contact with her. I finally did and she congratulated me and kind of looked around at the guys trying to figure out who the groom was and why he wasn't sitting with me! I explained to her that he was chauffering other guests to dinner.

photo177.jpg

christina23.jpg

I love this picture for some reason

So we get to the CR and we're waiting for the CM to come over with the ramp for the monorail so Christina can get off. No one was coming, so BIL and I get off to find someone. Nope, nobody in sight. BIL walks away and ends up coming back with the ramp! Of course NOW a CM comes running over apologizing and I think kind of upset because I'm guessing we're not allowed to handle the ramp ourselves!

We went downstairs and found some benches near the restauarant and we all sat down and talked for awhile. A nice CM came over and gave FG some beads for being a beautiful "princess" and then DH's parents took her into the gift shop to look around because she seemed to be getting bored.

DH showed up with his brother and RB and told us what had happened.

christina24.jpg

He and his brother FORGOT to go back to the GF to pick up my parents! They were almost at Pop by the time they remembered and had to hightail it back to the GF and come up with some excuse about the parking lot being "confusing" and that's why it took so long! As far as I know my parents totally bought their story.

Coming up: Chef Mickey's!

the picture of you on the monorail in all of your bridal gloriousness is FABULOUS!!! i can just imagine some confused tourist staring at you!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! i'm so happy for you!!!

Great Trip Report. Can't wait to hear about Chef Mickey's!
I would love to travel on the monorail in my dress. You look like you had so much fun. You pictures are great!

I love the picture of you on the Monorail too. It's soooo pretty!!!!

Like Summer, I'm jealous you got pics in the limo! I know MIL took some, but for some reason I never got a copy. Ah, well.

All your pics turned out great, btw! Oh, and I think all brides go through the disappointment that their Randy pics (or pics in general, I mean) aren't as good as they envision. I pitched a *fit* because I didn't like my photos at first, but I think I built it up so much that *nothing* was going to be as good. lol!

Can't wait for the next installment!

You're so cute! Your wedding looks absolutely beautiful and I am glad to see I am not the only bride who rode the monorail in my dress! Like you, I quite enjoy the attention you get strolling around in your wedding dress.

i told df the monorail story and he thought it was so funny!!! we're going to do taht too, just for the fun of it! i can't wait!!!

We got quite a few stares, but I didn't care! It was awesome, you should definitely do it!!

Great Trip Report. Can't wait to hear about Chef Mickey's!

Aww, thanks!!

I agree. I spent almost a year on here looking at everyone's photos and then I saw mine and I was like, "Really? That's it?" But then I looked through them again without comparing them to anyone else's and I really do like them now.

You're so cute! Your wedding looks absolutely beautiful and I am glad to see I am not the only bride who rode the monorail in my dress! Like you, I quite enjoy the attention you get strolling around in your wedding dress.

Thanks! I'm incredibly shy and didn't think I would like the attention at all, but I ate it up that day! Everyone was so over-the-top nice and strangers would just stop and compliment me -- it was surreal.

Wedding Day Continued -- Chef Mickey's

Once DH, BIL and his nephew arrived back it was time to walk over to Chef Mickey's to check in for dinner. My parents weren't there yet, but we couldn't wait for them.

I walked up to the podium in all my bridal glory and the CM behind the desk did a double-take and says, "Let me guess, did you get married today?" ALL the cast members there said congratulations and they immediately pushed us into line to get a group picture while we waited for our table. The photographer was just blown away that she got to photograph a wedding party and she was having so much fun positioning everyone just so. I was sort of sad that my parents weren't there for the photo, but it was their own choice to be late so I couldn't worry about it too much.

After the group photo, the photographer insisted on just me and DH even though our pager had already gone off. She told us not to worry, it's not like they could not seat a bride and groom! So we had our picture taken and then rushed over to where everyone else was being seated.

Rather than give us a long table, they sat us against the "booth" area, so on one side of the tables is a booth-style seat and a regular chair on the other side. The tables were all separated, so we asked if we could put them together and they said it was no problem. We also got the "It's My Special Day" placemats from the server -- I was so excited!

Once seated, the server came over to take our drink orders and explain the buffet and characters to us. Now, FG's favorite character is Ariel, but she's also partial to Mickey Mouse, whom she affectionately refers to as "Kimmy Mouf" because she can't pronounce the letters properly :rotfl: DH and I had gotten into a heated discussion with her prior to the trip trying to get her to say it correctly, but she would just get angry, cross her arms, and say, "Yes! KIMMY MOUF." as if WE were the dumb ones. haha

I was still kind of full from tea, but I wanted to try a bunch of stuff, so we all headed up the buffet, with instructions from MOH to take note of what they had and report back to her so she would know what to send us up for for her! She told us to get a variety of things so she could see them all and make an informed decision, lol.

I was impressed with this buffet and DH and I have since decided to go back for dinner on our next trip so that we can calmly (and with an appetite) try everything.

I started out with some salad, macaroni and cheese, and pizza. A lovely combination!

photo178.jpg

I didn't take pictures of anyone else's food, sorry!

The first character to come over was Pluto. Mostly everyone was still up at the buffet, but he spotted FG (who did genuinely seem interested) and went into full-on character mode and BOUNDED across the restuarant (like a dog) to see her. Well. This did not go over well and FG's eyes popped right out of her head as she started screaming and looking for somewhere to hide (behind FIL worked just fine for her). Poor Pluto felt horrible I think, so he came over to our end of the table and gave TONS of slobbery kisses to MOH instead.

photo179.jpg

My parents finally arrived and I explained to them how it worked and then they set off to find food.

Mickey was next to stop by and FG wasn't having any of that either.

photo180.jpg

Mickey saw me and did the "come here" motion with his finger so I climbed over my mom and walked around to take a picture with him.

DSC01009sm.jpg

Did I mention the top of my dress was realllly loose now? I was so paranoid it would fall down!

DSC01010sm.jpg

Then Mickey called DH over:

DSC01011sm.jpg

We couldn't figure out what he was trying to tell us:
christina25.jpg

So he finally just grabbed our hands and set it up for us, haha:
christina26.jpg

After Mickey was Donald, who proposed to me even though I had just gotten married:
DSC01005sm.jpg

photo181.jpg

photo182.jpg

I love this picture:
photo183.jpg

Poor unsuspecting MOHG (who is not a fan of the characters) thought we were taking a nice photo of him. You can see Donald creeping up behind him ready to grab him and you can see the look on MOH's face, knowing he is not going to appreciate the gesture.

I really wanted to try the parmesan mashed potatoes since everyone raves about them, and the Mickey ravioli looked cute so I headed back to the buffet with my dad. I also tried some kind of potato bake thing, but I'm not sure what it was or what was in it.

photo184.jpg

The mashed potatoes were ok, but they tasted just like the ones I make at home, and the ravioli was ok but I was getting pretty full and couldn't finish it. The other potato thing was good, but I couldn't fit any more food inside.

Goofy came over to our table next:

photo185.jpg

photo188.jpg

SIL had no idea what was going on, lol

After Goofy left, our server stopped by to let us know that the next song they were playing (where you wave your napkins around) was to celebrate us. I about died because I had no idea what to expect.

The music started and our server brought us over pretty cupcakes!

photo187.jpg

christina28.jpg

christina27.jpg

All of the characters made another round, but we were exhausted so we pretty much just waved, lol.

photo186.jpg

It was only 6:30pm by this time and everyone was basically done eating. BIL had gone up to get a plate of desserts for whoever wanted them, but I was stuffed. It was disappointing because aside from the characters, one of the reasons I booked CM is because the desserts looked really good.

We had an hour to kill before the van came for MOH and MOHG, so I told my parents to leave and go back to their hotel so that DH and I could stop by later to pick up my dad's tux. They left, we paid the bill, and everyone started heading out. The four of us went downstairs to wait outside for the van, and DH's family took their time and eventually went their own way back to the car.

We just sat on the benches outside and talked about the day, and tons of people passed by and said congratulations. When we were still inside, on our way out, a woman stopped me to tell me that I looked "stunning" -- I almost cried. The compliments people were giving me were just way too much: stunning, beautiful, breathtaking. OMG. A lot of little girls would stop and stare and their parents would have to grab them to keep them moving, explaining that we just got married. It was sooo cute. And other people wonder why we all decided to get married at Disney?!

The van finally showed up, so we made sure MOH was ok and we told them we'd meet them back at the room to help with getting ready for bed stuff. There was an aide coming at 10pm to get her officially ready for bed, but I knew she wasn't going to want to be stuck in her chair until then.

DH and I made our way over to the parking lot and found our car after getting lots of whistles and yells from the people waiting for the bus :bride:

I piled myself into the backseat and DH drove to DTD to pick up my dad's tux. We passed a couple Disney buses on the way and whenever we were stopped next to one, everyone would point and smile at us.

We picked up the tux and our cake and then headed back to Pop. As soon as we got to the room, DH took his tux off and I started undoing my dress. I couldn't wait to get it off! I was surprised -- I really thought I'd be one of those brides that didn't want to take it off because you never get to wear it again, but it was so hot and heavy and all I wanted were my sweats!!

I left my dress in a pile on the floor while I put some sweatpants and a tank top on and peed without the assistance of another person. I ran next door and helped MOHG get MOH into bed, said goodnight to them, and went back to my room to take my hair out and take a shower. Once we were both clean, DH and I grabbed our mug, the tuxes, and started our journey of collecting the rest of the tuxes.

We went to DH's parents' room first. We drove over there, picked up the tux, got back to the car and realized that his dad forgot to give us his shoes. DH went all the way back to the the room, got the shoes, and came back. Then we parked in the check in parking lot, grabbed the tuxes and went inside to find out where we should leave them. The front desk CM directed us to luggage services, and we met a very non-Disney-like CM there who took the tuxes rather reluctantly. We told him we had some more that we had to go get and would be back in 10 minutes.

We walked to BIL's room and got his, other BIL's, and RB's. We brought those back to luggage services and then I went to the food court to get hot water, while DH drove back to our parking lot and went to the room.

I walked back to the room, mixed myself up some Theraflu (I was feeling horrible at this point -- I think it hit me all at once) and I was asleep before I could even finish it! What a romantic wedding night, right?!

Coming up: Our Disneymoon! 8 more days of fun and pixie dust!

Pssst! You should update your siggy with a fabulous wedding pic! If you've got 'em, flaunt 'em!
