Tigger

I saw the video today. It appeared to me that the older boy was acting like most 12 to 15 year old boys - that is he did not want to snuggle in close to Tigger for a hug and photo. So he was sort of at arms length and pulling away. Looks like Tigger and the boy lost their balance and the kid got hit accidentally.

I absolutely do not buy that all the family wants is an apology from the CM in the costume. If that were the case then they would not rush to be on television with an attorney. I know I would not pay an attorney just to get an apology:rolleyes:

I heard about the story yesterday but I just watched the video for the first time. Tigger definately was reacting to something the boy did. It looks like the boy may have been trying to knock the head off of the costume. Tigger looks like he reacted and then lost his balance a bit. I'm not sure he even meant to hit the boy. Regardless, it wasn't a punch and it certainly wan't "for no reason." Obviously, IF (and I'm not sure) Tigger meant to hit the boy, there's a problem...but the boy definately isn't innocent.

I'm sorry, why did you need to start yet another thread? How about we keep discussion in one place, since you aren't adding any new relevation to the pot.

I was actually glad to see a new thread. I hadn't had time to watch the video and jump in yesterday. I started to today, but the other thread was way too long to read through before posting.

This is utterly ridiculous!!! As a teacher, I am appalled, but not at all surprised, that a parent would stoop so low as to try to scam Disney through his child! That's it dad, teach your son how to make a quick buck at someone else's (as well as ALL Disney fans, young and old alike) expense!! Amazing! Anyway... Love this board, so I had to join myself!!!

Well said and welcome to the DIS, you already fit in perfectly:thumbsup2

Dh just saw the video on the news and asked me if I had heatrd about the "Tigger incident" . Yes dear, actualy I have heard about it ;)

He says to say that the little punk with the cut-off gloves was definitely messing with Tigger and Tigger was just trying to get the kid off him. Any "blows" were unintentional by Tigger, but probably deserved.

There you have it, an unbiased, non-Dis board member opinion.

The kid was definitely doing something to Tigger because if you look at his bicep you will see that his muscles are flexed. Now if all you are doing is putting your arm around someone, your muscles are rarely completely contracting, however, if you are using them and trying to take Tigger's head off, they would be flexed.

I think that it was a set up from beginning to end, especially how the son joined the group mid visit.

Also, if my child was truly attacked in Disney World, I certainly wouldn't be interrupting my vacation to report it to the national media and posing for interviews.
