I have been reading a lot about these 'tigger tail' treats, and even saw a photo on someone's TR...
What exactly are they and where do you buy them?
I feel like it's something you gotta try at least once (kinda like the mickey-shaped ice cream ;))
I wanna get one when I go back to the park!
:tigger:

They are marshmellows on a stick, dipped in caramel, dipped in orange flavored/colored white chocolate, with brown chocolate stripes. My kids love them. They are kind of messy, but maybe that is just because my kids are messy. You can buy them back by the Winnie the Pooh ride. I wonder if Cheshire Tails are still being sold. If so, we'll have to try them on our next trip. They have sugar on the stripes. Very cute too....

My kids loved the Tigger Tails too. We also got ours back in Pooh's Corner. We had to try them finally after all of the fuss on the Disboards about them. I heard the Chesire tails are very good. We are definetely going to get the kids those if available next time.

I saw the Tigger Tails being sold at Pooh Corner (back of Critter Country), along with the Cheshire Tails last weekend (3/14). I think this was the only place where you could get them. The Cheshire Tails were also sold at the candy shop in DCA and Marceline's in DTD.

Both items are composed of four large marshmallows, dipped in caramel, then dipped in white chocolate. The chocolate is then covered with orange (for Tigger) or pink (for Cheshire) sugar. The Tigger Tails then get dark chocolate stripes added. The Cheshire Tails get white chocolate stripes, which are coated in purple sugar.

thanks everyone!
sounds very sweet! (maybe too sweet! lol)
i might just have to split one with a friend.

It looks like a Peep on a stick, coated in chocolate. I hate Peeps. Am I missing something? ha ha

They used to be a little different from peeps, but during our trip they made a huge change in how they were made due to trans fats. They used to be covered in fruit flavored white chocolate, but as of July 26th they changed to sugar coated (like peeps).

They are very sweet! I tried the old style but passed on the new ones. They're pretty but makes my teeth hurt just thinking about them!! lol

We tried them for the first time in July. They looked like peeps and no one in my family was very interested. So I bought one to share. Everyone took a bite and said "hmmm, those are pretty good". Then they took a second bite and said "wow, those aer really good". Then we had to get more the next day. They are really nothing like peeps at all except for having some marshmallow inside.

When we got home DS18 and his GF looked up tigger tail recipes online and bought the ingredients and tried to make them at home one night.

Needless to say we are now tigger tail fans! :goodvibes

Oh man.....I hadn't heard about the switch to sugar. Is this even messier? I love the Peeps analogy, even if they taste different/better than Peeps. That is too funny.

When I bought them for the kids at Pooh Corner, I also bought what was basically a big York Peppermint Patty for DH and myself. It was good, but I remember thinking I could get an entire bag of peppermint patties for what I paid for it. At least the Tigger Tails were unique, bigger, and lasted much longer.

yes, yes you are...I hate Peeps as well, never eat them but man Tigger Tails are heavenly...as are Cheshire Tails. :) Once you add the caramel and the chocolate they are a whole different animal. :)

They used to be good. I went to get one on our last trip at the beginning of August and they were like the ones pictured above :( They used to be dipped in orange flavored white chocolate, now they are dipped in orange sugar...not the same! I didn't buy one this time since they did not appeal to me at all. They also don't have the ones that were dipped in chocolate and cashews, those were my favorite. Maybe we should start a petition to being back the old Tigger Tails! :thumbsup2

Don't count on me for support. We had no idea there were two varieties of tigger tails and loved, loved, loved the new ones with orange sprinkles we got last month. :)

I guess I should thank my "peeps" on the DIS boards that I am now squared away on the Tiger Tails which, incidentally, are not a whole lot like Peeps at all :cool2:

 <------ I never have any use for this guy but every time I see him dancing I just want to close my posts with him lol

Just a quick fyi...Tiger Tails and Tigger Tails are 2 different things....Tigger Tails are super good sugary yummyness, Tiger Tails are breadsticks served at the Bengal BBQ. :)

I stand corrected. That was a typo but I also didn't know there was a distinction :)

I don't like the Tigger Tails or any of the other chocolate covered marshmallow sticks at DLR. They taste stale or old or dry or something, I can't quite say what it is about them that tastes odd to me. We were at Knotts Berry Farm a couple of weeks ago and they sell several different varities of the chocolate marshmallow sticks too and OMG they just put Disneys to shame. And they only cost a dollar a piece! If anyone goes to Knotts, they sell them in the candy shop in the Marketplace next door to the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The fudge is incredible too.
