Tigger collapses from heatstroke

Uh.....the video description says this happened in Shanghai Disneyland. You can even see someone carrying a Shanghai Disneyland bag in the video. This still sucks for the Tigger actor, though. I hope they're okay.

Yeah… I hope he gets plenty of cold water so he can cool off.

I’m not surprised. I don’t think there should be any characters at any park doing outdoor meet and greets once the temperature hits about 80 (and that is really too hot). I was happy to see that, other than parades, it looks like most characters in heavy costumes at WDW are indoors these days. The only characters I have seen outside, and not very often, have been face characters. As much as I like characters to be out and about and creating interactions with guests, their safety has to come first.

I hope Tigger is okay.

I get that this happened in China, but with the increasing average temps in Florida, WDW really should be making an effort to create more shade and cooling measures for park guests. For one thing, they should sell cooling towels at a price only very slightly above cost, rather than the exorbitant markup they have now. ( I priced the same ones out at wholesale recently; unprinted they cost about $.97 /ea; with screen printing the cost is more like $1.80. They could charge $4/ea and make up all their costs, including shipping and packaging, but instead they charge about $20. (These also should be freebies with any paid summer special event ticket.
.
Personally, I'd really like them to go to summer overnight hours one day a week, at least at MK, so that guests could get in the equivalent of a full-day visit without dealing with daytime heat. In summer they could have the park close during the day one day per week, opening between 7pm-7am instead.

I wonder how the "cast members" would feel about working overnight one day a week. Just thinking of how Costco recently opened an hour early to accommodate their Executive Members -- some employees were NOT happy having to adjust their other obligations (child care, etc) for even an hour.
