Tiger looks a little different these days....

Jokes about women giving it to their cheating men are as old as dirt. Think frying pans upside the head and flying dishes. To me, this photoshopped pic of Tiger is no different.

Ditto.

So are degrading jokes about women, minority races, homosexuals, etc....that doesn't make them right.

We have all laughed at something that someone else finds offensive.

Slipping on a banana peel is hilarious, but it isn't if your neighbor did and broke their back. It's all about context, and we're just having some fun exaggerating poor Tiger's, uh, injuries.:rotfl:

As a former victim of domestic violence myself, I don't find something that pokes fun at domestic violence funny (whether the man was the victim or the woman.) I normally find Papa Deuce's posts funny, but I find this particular joke in poor taste. One of my best friends emailed it to me, yesterday....I don't dislike my friend because he finds it funny. I just find it offensive because I know firsthand that domestic violence is in no way humorous.

I laugh at many things posted here, and even have printed some off for friends and to hang on our fridge at home. This one doesn't do anything for me. I'm not offended by it, but I also don't laugh at someone cheating or the violence depicted in the picture. I'm surprised the race card hasn't been pulled yet either.

I think it would be pretty hard for the race card to be pulled with Tiger considering how many races he belongs to.

Ohhh pppllleeaazzzeee people!

I laughed so hard I choked when I got it this morning! It was down right hysterical! I did not read any more into that a very hysterical parody! LOVE the golfball in the ear.

So if God Forbid you got the tar beaten out of you by your spouse you would be good with us all making photoshopped pictures of you depciting the beating and then cracking up over it? That's good to know.:surfweb:

Ok that pic is funny...and I'd never seen it before! LOL

What would I care? Some strangers laughing at my situation- guarantee it has happened before in some way.
I had skin cancer on my face last year. I am a relatively young, relatively attractive person who had to go around with a scarred face for over a year (5 total surgeries).
People were pretty horrified to see me so I found the best way to handle it was to be the first one to laugh at myself. Made others feel more comfortable and I was perfectly with those that made their own jokes. Laughter is better than pity.
Found out I get to start in a month going through the whole face thing on the other side. They found skin cancer on another spot on the other side. I am already making jokes that I better take all the pictures I can now cause I ain't gonna be left with a "good side". ;)

I think that is a lot different. I am sorry you have to go through all that and for what it is worth I would never laugh at you or anyone about such a thing.

I'm one of the few Americans that didn't get that picture in an email. And I'm glad I was. I don't find domestic abuse or a parody of it funny. And I have a great sense of humor, thank you very much. (and I can prove it--I think the change of nickname to Cheetah is very funny)

Sorry, this isn't funny.

I agree with everything you said. I don't think that being a huge celebrity that he is off limits for scrutiny. That's pretty much what people sign on for when they become celebrities but joking about violence just isn't funny.

Every joke ever makes fun of someone or something shall we just ban humor from the face of the earth???

There's appropriate humor (the cheetah joke is appropriate and funny) and inappropriate (making domestic violence into a joke is as inappropriate as telling a racist joke - I dare you to do that on the DIS.) Maybe you'd understand if you or someone you loved had been a victim of domestic violence.
