I agree with the bolded. I think some of these women are just looking for their 15 minutes and sadly he is a likely target right now.

I wonder if those claims turn out to be not true, if the press will spend as much time covering the falsehoods.

Surprised Tiger made this statement since he doesn't have to apologize to anyone other than his wife. He owes us nothing.

I think he owes all the kids who look up to him something. I love the old saying To whom much is given, much is expected. I don't think it is too much to expect for a very public figure to make a statement regarding his total lack of decency especially when younger kids may think if Tiger does it, then it must be ok.

And about the argument that I am sure will come: If they don't want to be role models then get out of the game because everyone knows it comes with the territory.

I didn't say young child, I said younger kids. I am sorry but my kid is 12 and I do consider that younger and he knows exactly what is meant by having sex with someone other than his wife, It is all over the news and my kiddo has to do a current event each week, don't you think he reads this stuff? If you don't you are in La La land.

I disagree. It's your job as a parent to explain to your kids that some famous people do stupid things just like regular people do stupid things. Yes, famous athletes get lots of money in endorsements. That creates contracts and obligations between them and the companies that pay them, not between them and the public. Yes, they are selling their image, and it may end up costing them in endorsement contracts, but the only people they have to answer to is the companies that sign those contracts.

I never said it wasn't a parents job to explain right and wrong to my kids, HOWEVER.a lot of kids look up to these guys and think that they can do no wrong and no matter how much a parent may explain some kids will see their idols doing it and think wow, this must be ok and mom and dad are just silly old fashioned people. I think kids need to see that these athletes and celebs realize that they have done wrong and apologize for it. But you can disagree all you like. I belong in the camp of athletes and celebs don't get a pass on private things like this, they have to take the good with the bad and losing your privacy is part of the bad.

People, you're missing something. I heard a radio psychologist say that Tiger is suffering from sex addiction, it's a disease, he can't help it. He needs treatment and an understanding wife, not judgement and criticism.
