Hey,

Trying to make arrangements for transportation before and after cruise.

Do you think Tiffany Town Car is a good choice??

I got a quote for $195- plus a 20% gratuity...that is not optional!
Is this normal? What if the guy is late, rude, drives like a crazy person ect.... this means I still need to give him $40.00??

Any thoughts??

Thanks,

We have ONLY used Tiffany and several times at that. Not once have we had a bad episode or driver! In fact, last Sept he first dropped us off at WDW for a week and then came back to take us to the port. He asked us if we had ever been to Kennedy Space Center and we answered no. He took us there for free just to see it and take pictures. He went way out of his way for us.

JiminyC Fan,
Were you required to pay a 20% gratuity?

I don't mind paying for good service and I am not cheap but, I'm not sure I like the idea of being told I have to give someone a 20% tip.

Thanks

I have a friend that uses them exclusively other than the few times she's used ME. She's only had one questionable driver and it was dealt with. I'm sure if you get less than stellar service that the 20% can be removed or reduced. I'd call them and ask if it were absolutely mandatory to tip before you receive your service or what they plan to do in the event you do not receive acceptable service. That auto tip may not really be in place. ;)

I have you checked out Lorden Transportation? I use him exclusively. I've never had an issue with him. :thumbsup2

We used them once before to go from MCO to WDW and back, that was before the ME. They were great, on time picking up both ways, handled our luggage and were really polite.

Check out the transportation board. :thumbsup2 You might hear different than the posters here. (Search for Tiffany and you'll find a lot of different opinions).

I actually just cancelled with Tiffany today for this Saturday and went with Sunray (had an issue with booster seats with Tiffany). So far, the guy I talked to at Sunray was much more helpful than Tiffany, who was very rude on the phone to me today.

We have used Tiffany a number of times. We always ask for our Renata to be our driver, she is great. We have never had any issues. Good luck!

I assume the 20% gratuity is to make sure that the driver doesn't get stiffed out of his tip, which I am sure some people will do. I have never had any problems with Tiffany but if you do I am sure they will be happy to remove or reduce the gratuity. The best thing to do is to put it on a credit card so if you have any problems you can put a stop payment on the charge until it is dealt with

As I said I have used them about 5 times and never had a problem

We have used Tiffany many times! We have never had a problem with one of their drivers - very efficient and friendly! We have always tipped what we wanted to. I think they just want you to know up front that 20% is typical since the drivers depend on their tips. Just be aware that if it is a 2-legged trip or more (example, airport to port and port back to the airport) that you don't "always" get the same driver for the 2nd leg of the trip - so tip appropriately for each leg of the trip. That way your driver knows he has to earn his tip both going and coming.

We have used them twice and always had great drivers. We always do a grocery stop before the resort and never have been rushed.

Have even used them for a day to SeaWorld and back to the resort. DD left her fannypack in their car and I called them and it was dropped back by the resort the next morning. :goodvibes I will be using them again for our cruise next year. I love the idea of being picked up and driven in style! One of lifes little pleasures!:thumbsup2

We used Tiffany when we went of our cruise in early March. I would reccommend Tiffany highly. Max our driver was wonderful. I could not have asked for anyone one more friendly and helpful. He gave us all the information we need about where to go and what to do to check in at the Port. He talked to us about when to pick us up when the ship return and gave us his private cell number to call him as soon as we exited the terminal and he was there waiting for us. We even used him while staying at Disney to go to Sea World. He made everything such a breeze. It was so worth it and we are using him again when we cruise on 28 April 2007.

Hi guys...I'm going to close this thread since the OP has one that already asks this question here. Please feel free to post your replies to the existing thread. Thanks.
