I called Tiffany to confirm my ressies with them. They are adding a 20% gratuity to our total (we have 7 people in a stretch limo). What if we don't get the same driver each leg of the trip? And does this sound like a good tip?

Hi Donna,
I saw no one was biting, so I thought I'd put my 2 cents in...the 20% is in case people don't tip. Tip for excellant service, if your driver is great, then add whatever you want on...similar to server gratuity on ship, tip for what service you receive...if they are average, well they get the 20%. On a round trip that is like 15$ each way...If he is awesome, give him what you think he deserves in addition.
Question : How are you going to get all the bags for 7 people in the trunk?? they only fit 3 big bags...and a few small...I need packing lessons from you guys! LOL! Hope you feel better...pixie dust to you!
PS- You usually get the same driver going back...if you really want to make sure, pick up the phone in PC, call the 800 # and confirm...

LOL I do not know how...actually I never really thought about it...each person sits on a bag?? :p The people at Tiffany's never said anything...hmmmm...

We always get the van, due to the fact that I usually pack double what I need. We lucked in to THE best driver that way too....van will seat 10 PLUS luggage...and you can get best driver on the way back from PC...ask for Jerry, the van driver....you won't be dissappointed!

We used a limo with Tiffany and had 8 people with 6 large luggages and two small. We all fit!

Ashley...thanks!!!! The kids are looking forward to the limo as much as anything else.

Unfortunately, we had about 11 bags, for 2 adults and a seven year old...plus carryons...yes, I know, I overpack...don't you wish they still had steamer trunks! HAHA...Oh well, I liked the van better anyway, more economical too!See you soon Donna!

When I reserved our limo for 8, I specifically asked if the tip was automatically added in because I had heard of the tip being added in. They said no. When I asked how much to tip, they told me $20 for the one way from the airport to port ($150). I recently saw a quote for $125 with a different service. It does get one thinking!!!!

When I called a few weeks ago, I was made very aware that there was an added gratuity. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding, or miscommunication, when you called...Tiffany is too large and reputable a company to risk losing customers over an insignificant amount of money. Was it a very large company that is advertising the price you quoted? Also, check what their fleet actially looks like...Tiff's are all new vehicles.. isn't the round trip less than one way?

Yes, I asked him twice to confirm and he said there was a gratuity of 20% added.

Cartiers quotes $125 one way airport to the port with no hidden costs on their website. I haven't had time to call TT to ask about the $150. Perhaps this already includes the 20% drivers fee, but they did not indicate this at all. I was very specific when I asked about the tip being included. Evidently, the tip and the 20% drivers fee are not the same. Even so, they should be honest about what is being paid for, especially since I was asking for details.

We want to stay with TT because we have used them in the past and had great service. But what if the $150 does not include the 20% fee? This obviously will add on to my total. I am on a budget to some extent and anywhere that I can save a little money I will.

I'll check with both companies before I cancel with TT. I want to make sure that I have all the details first.

Music - if you are on a budget, why bother with a limo? Take a van instead...you'll be more comfortable, and save money...

The limo is kind of a thank you to my sister and her family because they are using their "points" for hotel rooms for free and on the car rental for after the cruise. Its a surprise for them and my ds. As far as they know we are just getting a van. They have not been on vacation for along time and I really want to do something special for them. When we used TT 2 years ago, we had a really nice towncar and it made the beginning of our trip special (especially since it was also our first time flying!) I don't know if the van would have the same effect. I want to go with TT because I feel comfortable with them. But I have also heard that Cartiers is used frequently. I checked out some of the lesser known services and most of them are just as high. I don't known if I would use them or not without a good deal. So far its down to TT and Cartiers.

As for the budget, I'm always looking for the best deal no matter what I'm doing. We're going in Cat 11 just for that same reason. I'd go to cat 12 but I'm not to keen on the location. We have 7127, which is the same one we had before and we loved it. We could go higher, but why?! We never seemed to be in the room anyway except to sleep and shower.

just an update on TT tipping. I just talked to them again, and asked the price for a limo airport to port for 8, she said $150. She didn't mention the 20%. I asked her about and she said that they will add it on. This is the actual tip however, and nothing else is needed.

As for Cartier's, when I called and asked for a quote, they said $145 plus tip. When I mentioned that the website had $125, I was told that this was for 5 people.
