Tiers at Epcot

How can the meet and greet, not have a fp option? What are people going to wait in line for 2 hours with their small children? Totally ridiculous

As Mkrop reminded everyone, this is nothing new. Long lines for A&E were the norm long before they went to MK. The could apply FP, if they wanted, but it would have to be tier one because of their limited daily capacity, and then people would have one more thing to complain about. It's still possible to do both Frozen attractions on one day. Hit the M&G at RD and FP the ride. Try to pick up Soarin as a 4th FP or hit it just before it closes at night.

Although I understand the need for tiers, they are definitely the most annoying part of FP +.

I, frankly, DON'T see the point of tiers. There's a limited number of fps...when they're taken, they're taken and then we're all standby or don't ride. What purpose does the tier serve? There's no tier in MK and we all survive. When Fps are all taken at MK, we just ride standby, right? It works without tiers. ...or what am I missing?

If they didn't limit it to one tier 1 FP+ per person, then the first bunch of people who booked FP+ would get three great fp+ and everyone else wouldn't get any. Would that really be better? At least this way, most everybody gets something that they want.

I'm up for allowing people to pick two Tier 1's at Epcot, & let the chips fall where they may. It has Frozen, Soarin', Test Track, Illuminations, Living with the Land, and they should add the A&E meet and greet. They could also put Mission Space back in Tier 1.

I don't think the system would be destroyed if guests could pick two Tier 1 choices at Epcot. Flame me all you want, but I think that would be a better solution than what we have now, which as another poster said, amounts to basically one FP per day at Epcot.

MK has way more capacity than Epcot. Epcot suffers from a sad lack of attractions while MK has almost too many.

I will say that this notion of being fair shouldn't be something that a tourist has to think about. This is on Disney for charging a lot for a subpar product.

The tiers make sure the guests are dispersed a bit more evenly throughout the park. MK doesn't need tiers because it has plenty of "A" list attractions. Anyone that has been to Epcot can tell you that you don't need a FP to ride Figment or catch the Pixar show, so without tiers you'd basically have 4-5 FP attractions.

What they are doing in Epcot regarding FP+ defies all logic. Why don't they add FP+ capabilities to A&E meet and Greet, Joy and Sadness M&G, Baymax M&G and Sum of all thrills, and then remove all tiering and let the chips fall as they may. There are less attractions at DHS, and they don't have all their headliners in one tier. Everyone has now been rationed to ONE decent fastpass per day at Epcot, it makes effective touring virtually impossible. Epcot is now a two day park by necessity, which may have been Disney's plan all along.

There are twice as many rides with FP+ at MK as at Epcot. So there's a lot more opportunities for people to secure the FP that they want at MK.

I have a question, after you use your 3 FP+'s at Epcot can you pick another tier 1 assuming they are available?

Just a quick note that a very strong rumor from some reputable sources has SOAT losing its sponsorship and closing as early as this summer. So, one less attraction, and one less FP possibility. And how pathetic is it that we have to contemplate adding FP to every M&G in an effort to find things to do without long standby lines.

And don't forget : make something a FP attraction and those standby lines will get even longer than they were before.

Try Disneyland next time if you are into Anna and Elsa. I was there in February and Anna and Elsa meet and greet had one person in line when we walked up. Zero people the second time when we went. This was when the parks were rather crowded too.

We never see characters and I don't have any small little girls that would want to see them, but I still think it's ridiculous for it not to have a fp option.
