Tiering at Epcot

This is a good change, certainly. I was annoyed on Saturday because we picked Character Spot since we hadn't yet met Mickey Mouse, and that meant we couldn't do Test Track or Soarin'. We had already done them once another day or I wouldn't have picked the character meeting, but it would have been nice to do one "big ride" while having made the trip over to the park.

Living with the Land is Tier 1 though? :confused3 It had no wait at all when we got on at 5-ish on an Epcot EMH night. We used an FP for Spaceship Earth around noon and bypassed a 20-30 minute wait. Maybe LwtL has similar waits early in the day, but I don't know about either being a Tier 1.

does anyone have a link to the current tiers? everything i find online is outdated according to this thread

I'm probably the only one that is sad Living with the Land is Tier 1 - we love that ride.

For us we booked Soarin', Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth as our 3 - guess that is out now! I like Maelstrom but don't love it!

I love Living with the Land, too but, I usually do it after I finish Soarin' before there is any kind of line (all of that could change now, but I doubt it). And, since I dislike just about everything in Future World East, I spend all of my time in West. After Soarin' once or twice, Imagination, and exploring the seas, I have time to stand in line for 5-10 minutes for Living with the Land while waiting for World Showcase to open. ;)

I just checked the site. I can't do Soarin' and Test Track but Maelstrom and Character Spot are indeed Tier 2 now.

Edit: I was just able to replace Living with the Land with Test Track! So I now have Soarin' and Test Track on the same day!

Give it a week and it will.

This one also surprised me. But as others have stated, Maelstrom and Character Spot really should not be Tier 1. In fact in my ideal world, nothing would be tier anything.

The Character Spot was a walk in without FP almost all the time.

I have to wonder if people were making dummy FP's for Living with the Land and not turning up. :confused3 Now it's Tier 1, I don't think too many people will choose it.

I think what is happening is if you already had Living with the Land and go into to change it since it is now a Tier 1 you will be given the chance to change to a current Tier 1 attraction even though you already have one.

I found the same thing at HS now that Great Movie Ride is now a Tier 1. I booked it when it was a Tier 2 but if I go into change experience it is offering me the Tier 1 attractions even though I already have a Tier 1 FP+ scheduled for TSMM.

It looks like if you did not already have one of those new Tier 1 rides selected then you will not be able to have two Tier 1 attractions. Glad I can get 2 Tier 1 attractions at HS now but really wishing I had picked Living with the Land now at Epcot. ;)

Thanks OP!! I started playing around with my picks and when I went to modify my Living with the Land it gave Soarin as a choice!! Then when I modified my Spaceship Earth I was able to get Maelstrom! So now I have Test Track, Soarin and Maelstrom! I love the Dis!

That's because Living with the Land is now Tier 1. So even though you made it as a Tier 2, they allow you to change it for another Tier 1 now.

I've never seen CS be a walk-in, we've always had to wait 20-30 minutes unless we rushed right there at RD. Though we usually go during pretty busy times. Glad to see it's no longer a Tier 1, just wish they had done this before our trip last March.

:confused3 It used to be worse when Donald and Pluto met. Since it moved and you can't see inside, we have never waited longer than 5 minutes. With or without FP.

The day we went at the end of July last year we got to CS about 11 am and there was no wait. I was shocked. We got up to Mickey and I was fumbling for the autograph books because I expected a wait and to have time to get them out and Mickey ended up running up to us.
When we were with Pluto there was no one ahead of us with Minnie and she ended up video/photo bombing us as we were getting our picture with Pluto !

I agree about no tiers. It just seems so odd to me. And, considering it is not needed at Magic Kingdom, it makes me feel like Disney execs should possibly take a look at why Epcot and DHS supposedly need the tiers, but Magic Kingdom - the number one visited amusement park in the world - doesn't. Hint: It's the number of attractions! Give us more at those parks. As is, it seems like Epcot really only has 3 attractions, maybe 4 that would warrant Tier One status - Soarin', Test Track, Mission Space, and possibly Illuminations. And, honestly, I'm unsure of Mission Space and Illuminations. DHS only has 3 - 5 attractions worthy of Tier One status: Toy Story Midway Mania, RnRC, Tower of Terror, and possibly Star Tours and Fantasmic. All of the Tier Twos at these parks really shouldn't need to be fast passed at all.
