Tiered Pricing on Tickets....

Perhaps you meant to say, "AK has 2 EMH mornings per week currently."

MK has not had 2 regularly-scheduled AM EMH per week in awhile.

Nope, I looked at the calendar wrong.

I’m still not convinced that morning EMH was removed to add EMM. But that’s just my opinion.

What used to be a free perk? The poster you quoted was talking about EMM, which hasn’t ever been a free perk.

Getting into the parks early or late used to be an EXCLUSIVE FREE perk for those staying onsite.

Then they cut the free hours.

Then they added please pay $89 for one hour of time to ride three rides and here's some breakfast.

However, they used to have a lot more EMH than they do now, and things like EMM can be construed as taking away mornings that might have previously been EMH.

Exactly.

My '98 trip involved deciding almost every day which park to go to early or stay late.

I remember every day of our trip having a one or the other option.

Iger’s greed continues to astound me. Just when I think he couldn’t possibly find another way to squeeze more money out of guests, I read news like this.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the next time there is a U.S. recession, Disney is going to have offer discounts out the wazoo to get people in there.

It’s frightening really. If the Disney corporation starts relying on extra revenue from stuff like this, a bad recession could take down the whole company.

Do you know for sure that they removed EMH in order to add EMM? I felt like they cut EMH before they added EMM. And I have to think the operating costs of EMM is way lower than EMH...far fewer rides operating, and far fewer cast members needed. And a buffet breakfast was never included with EMH.

I just kind of think they’re apples and oranges. Totally my opinion, but I don’t think the purpose of removing EMH was to add EMM.

What is he supposed to do? If he can continue to raise prices and the parks continue to be filled, why would he do anything different? His job is to make money.

It takes a huge volume of guests to keep the parks, resorts and restaurants filled. Once they start pricing people out, the effects of a recession will be much harder since its operation is dependent on a certain volume of business.

His job is to make every penny he can for the share holders. They can always give discounts if the need arises but they can not milk more money out of people during this very good economic time after it has passed. They are maximizing profits now until their data they collect sees a tipping point. They didn't spend the enormous amount of money on magic band technology to not use the data that it collects.

I'm not and never did say that was how it played out.

They cut EMH to save money.

Somewhere down the line, they added EMM and the like to make more money.

I still think it bites.

They remove and take and give us back options for a fee.

Like, when fireworks viewing was a choice of FP+, was popular, and they decided to monetize it.

And quite frankly, they would have never just removed the one or switched it to a paid option without a break or people would see the direct correlation and be even more upset.

But after years of the hours being cut, lo and behold, they offer us a solution. That on top of outrageous ticket and food increases, costs almost as much as a full day ticket.

I remember when they used the excuse that gas was over $4 a gallon to raise food prices.

Have you seen the food prices drop at Disney World to reflect them dropping outside the bubble? I have seen lower prices on things outside the bubble but at Disney, once it goes up, it stays up.

I'm going to enjoy my upcoming trips and do all the things I can that I've always wanted to do. But for sure 2019 is out for us and maybe these will be the last altogether. I love the place, obviously. But, I'm tired of their greed.

ETA: And this isn't about whether or not I can afford it. Last year we paid for 3 in the spring, 3 in the summer, and 5 of us to go last Christmas. Round trip from Oklahoma. In cash. It's just that my limit has been reached.

I'm not sure I understand this. We were there in November and we did do an EMH, either morning or evening, every day. Are you saying they used to offer one of each every day? That would be nice.

All they have to do is say Free Dining and people will come running.

The fact remains that people of all socio-economic backgrounds continue to book their trips every year, but there will be a tipping point when guests finally push back.

People have been saying this since 1971. It hasn't happened yet.

I'm going to assume that you mean 10%, not 100%? The tiered tickets you're looking at are only for one-day tickets. The tiering on multi-day tickets won't go into effect until later this year.
Nope 100%! When I first started pricing this trip out in late January, the same room at Port Orleans is now double my first quote. For the same week and same amount of people. I realize my first quote was prior to the latest price hike, but every time I look, it goes up. It priced us offsite
