Tie Dye Mickey shirts

Since Irene is keeping us in this weekend, I have decided to attempt making tie dye mickey head shirts! I am NERVOUS about making these! I want them to look awesome!

I would appreciate ANY and all tips you can provide! I bought 100% cotton shirts from Michaels. Do I need to wash them first? and as far as sewing in the mickey head, is it hard?

We made a bunch of these last year. I washed them before I dyed.

My only tip is to really get the ink down in the layers. Mine had a bit more white than I would have liked. I still like the way they look, but I would have liked a little more ink on them.

Don't be nervous. If the heads don't come out as clear as you would like, you can use a bleach pen to outline them. (that's what I had to do) Be sure to use a real Clorox bleach pen. The generic ones from Dollar Tree didn't work. The real one turned the color white as soon as it was on it.

I used iron on vinyl cut with my Cricut to make the Mickey faces.
