Trying to work out what would be the best tickets to get for our chrimbo trip i'm sure the last time we went 3 years ago we had a 10 day hopper, but i can't seem to find it anywhere? have they stopped doing this? the way i see it is that it is going to be pointless getting the maximum ticket for a 2 week holiday especially if we are hoping to do seaworld, universal, busch, IOA and a couple of days rest we do however like the option of park hopping as this has come in handy in the past, can anyone suggest what tickets would suit me best, my the way it will be a family of 4, me, DH, DS (12) DS (4) if that makes any difference!!

There isn't a huge selection of tickets available in the UK so if you think that the 14 day ticket is too much you're probably looking at the 7 day premium ticket which gives you park hopping and also 5 visits to the water parks. You'll not save much money over the 14 day ticket (about £10) so you'll need to be sure that the extra flexibility the 14 day tickets gives isn't worth the tenner.

Alternatively, if you dont want access to the water parks or disney quest, you could look at buying from America. A 7 day ticket with park hopping but no water parks costs $234 (about £121, but exchange rate will depend on credit card charges), a 10 day ticket with park hopping is $237 so probably worth the extra $3.

We used to use park hopping but I decided that it was a luxury that we didn't really need so we've gone for the 10 day base ticket at $212 (about £110).

If you really want park hopping and access to the water parks then US prices are pretty much the same as UK prices and I would be tempted to go for the added flexibility of the 14 day ticket over the 7 day ticket.

Thanks for that Tartangirl i'm still confused which to get though decisions decisions, why is it DH always gets me to make the hard ones and then if it's not right i get the blame i'm determined not to jump straight in though and try to work it out properly and to our advantage

Buy an Annual pass and make loads of savings and an in-built ready made excuse to go back again within the year!!

Seriously, it's not that bad - the AP is about $420 - with the exchange rate, it works about £220/230 (albeit it that is the normal AP, not the PAP - the water parks don't appeal too much to me - I do have one hopper left from a previous visit so might give summit plummet a go). It is only about 70 more than a 14 day pass - when I worked out what you can save in tours, dining, shops, rooms - it makes it all worthwhile!

hmmmmmmm, now when you put it like that i can just imagine my DH reaction though until i calmed him down of course, he always sees it from my point of view in the end, i have that knack

Go on!!! With the AP room discounts that came out last week, I saved $800 on AKL - that more or less pays for the two annual passes I'm getting. That way I get to stay at a deluxe I thought I would never be able to afford and already have my tickets sorted for next year!!

OMG......W O W !!!!! There will be some serious talking to be done tonight, would i be wiser to wait nearer the time until i get the AP that way i have a full 12 months to use them, i'm even more excited now, what a brilliant way to get 2 holidays to florida within a year and the kids will be over the moon,, still not sure about DH and his credit card though

You can book your accommodation now (check first to see if you can get it for when you go, there was near meltdown when the AP code was released and people went mad!) and then simply say you have an AP - you don't show it until you actually check-in. They only have a certain number per resort and some have been filled - it will depend on which date.

You can order it now, but it doesn't actually start until the first time you use it - that way, this year I'm using it second week in June, next year I'll use it first week in June. If you need any backup, let me know!!

Thanks for all the info i really appreciate it, we have already booked up our holiday for this chrimbo coming staying on idrive but if the savings are there it would be great to go out next summer or if we enjoy christmas out there go again for chrimbo
