Now that all these changes have occured (which I've only so far browsed through) are there still discounts out there like at Ticket Mania or other places that Mousesavers will announce? I'm not planning on going until next winter but I just want to be prepared in case some deals come up prior.

I'm not sure about TicketMania (they didn't return my calls), but TheOfficialTicketCenter.com and MapleLeafTickets.com have discounts on the new tickets. Disney also offers advance-purchase discounts through their website.
