Need help with understanding tickets. A number of sites offer tickets -some seem to charge tax, others don't. Is tax required for out of state purchases? Any suggestions on a safe place to buy park tickets?

I just bought PHPs from the Official Ticket Center - got their link from this site (see banner above). The transaction was flawless. Great deal too.

All sites will charge you the 6.5% Florida tax. If they don't list it in their prices (like Disney doesn't), they will add it to your total. The tax is charged on every ticket sold whether in Florida or anywhere else. There will be no other state sales tax added to the purchase even if your state taxes everything.

There is a provision in the tax code that items that can only be used in one location (in this case at WDW in Florida) will only be assessed the Florida tax and none other.

Other than Disney themselves, there are many reputable ticket wholesalers that sell WDW admission. Among many others there are (in no particular order) AAA, Ticketmania, Official Ticket Center, Paramount Travel, Maple Leaf Tickets and Central Florida Tickets. You will find that all have been discussed often on these boards and are very reputable companies.
