I don't see how it is an invasion of privacy if it is thier park.
I did have one problem where my card print would not work. So the guy just let me in, but he screwed something up so my fast pass wouldn't work. Anyway I had to walk all the way back to the gen off, and had only half my family able to fast pass for a while. They gave me a couple of fast pass vouchers to make up for it.

That is not true. The president of the ACLU has stated that if people don't like the system they can avoid Disney. Secondly there is nothing they could do, because as a private company Disney had the legal right to do what it wants on this matter. Also it is not a requirement for entry into the park as anyone can refuse to use the system and show a photo ID to get in.

As others have mentioned, AP holders have been doing this for a while. I personally have no problem with it and will continue to visit WDW with absolutely no reservations about this system.

I've had AP's since 1998, never had any problems.

Spalding, of the ACLU, said several people brought Disney's system to the group's attention, but so far no one has complained.

"If you're that offended, you don't have to associate with Disney," Spalding said.

Regardless as I stated before even if they are looking into the system there is no way they will be able to legaly make Disney stop.

It is still a type of monitoring. If it's okay at theme parks, when does it stop?

As already noted - there are glitches.

How else can they confirm the ticket is being used properly? They were already monitoring ticket use (if you lost your ticket, a new one could be issued with the correct number of days remaining -- as they kept track of the number of times the ticket was used).

I dont like it neither. It's a pain. The waiting and the errors is such a bummer sometime.
I like purchasing the old hoppers and using the plastic ones. Much easier and u do not have to do the finger thingy!
