Tickets - what would you do?

Hey All!

Taking my niece this trip 'cause we love her and 'cause she will help with the kids! I'm trying to figure out what to do about tickets.

My original plan was for my family to use our leftover hoppers from last trip (4 days worth) and she could use the one day tickets that we got with the Free Dining package.

That won't work because we are hopping. Period.

So now I'm thinking maybe I will just upgrade to 4 day hoppers for everyone and keep our leftover tickets for next trip (yes ... there will be a next trip).

But then I can't get past that fact that the 4 day hopper just is not a good deal.

Maybe I should get 7 day hopper no expire and save them for another trip as well? I could just upgrade at check in and get my family 7day PH no expire and get my niece a 4 day PH. OR I could get DN a 7 day PH no expire and take her again sometime in the future. (It's a good chance she may get to go with us again in August of next year ... but want to see how this trip goes first.)

I will have the money to "invest" in tickets when we go. But I feel guilty investing in more when we have 4days we still have not used. On the flip side I feel bad only getting 4 day hoppers when it's not good per day price wise!

What would you do?

I would just use your tickets up and just get your DN a 4 day park hopper, I know it might not seem like a good deal, but it might stop this from happening in the future. If you get a 7 day hopper, and you decide to take your DN next time, you will be in the same boat, and won't be using your 4 days that you have now.

So get her a 4 day, so everyone has a clean slate for your next trip, or you are just going to have this problem again...

Unless... I'm missing something!

I guess the only thing you are missing is that we have the money now to buy tickets for the future but we may not have it later (it will get spent on something else).

I think I decided I'm going to just upgrade her to a 4 day hopper and upgrade all us to 7 or 10 day hoppers with no exp.

That way I know our tickets are taken care of the next few trips.

If you are going to go back you might as well. You will have piece of mind, plus I think it would make me feel better leaving the parks if I knew I had tickets that I needed to come back and use! Also, you will likely save money in the long run, because you will be paying this year's price point.

Are you getting the dining plan? If you decide that you like it, and would like to purchase the package again in the future, you're going to have to keep buying the one day base tickets to get dining. Here's what we're doing.(we have leftover 4day passes from last year also) We will buy DD's boyfriend a 4 day hopper for this trip only. You never know if the BF will be around next year. We will use our 4day leftovers, and hold on to the one day base tickets for the next time. Then when we need to use them we will upgrade the one day passes to whatever we need/want at the time. For us, the one day passes are the cost of getting "free" dining. I've gone back and forth about upgrading our passes and holding on to them for future trips, as we get to WDW pretty often. But the problem is that we never know how many days we'll be in the parks until the trip is planned. I would also rather have my money invested elsewhere, rather than tied up in park tickets. Although the return on your money may be about the same with anticipated ticket price increases.

Yeah ... we are getting the dining plan ... this time it's free but we liked it back in December when we paid for it. :sunny:

We would probably keep getting the dining plan as well unless they came out with a great room only code that offset the value of the dining plan.

Hmmm ... yeah ... those silly one day tickets!

We are also considering going in December and I know we will go again next August.

Hey! If I am going in September ... then December .... then August maybe an AP would be in order for my family. Hmmmmmm.

Decisions! Aaak!

LOL
