Tickets using a finger scan?

Can anyone tell me about this? The last time we were there everyone just had a card. How does this work?

It's not really a finger scan.

It is very simply. After you insert your ticket you simply stick your middle and index finger into a scanner. After a few seconds the machine will spit your ticket through to the other side and a green light will flash.

It is a finger scanner. However it does not read your finger prints. It measures various aspects of your fingers and assigns you a number based on those measurements.

Hmm....do they have kids do it too?? I can only imagine the fun we'll have trying to get my daughter who eill have just turned 3 to do it right.

When I was there in October I did not see children that young being required to do the scan or a parent scaned it with their hand. The youngest I noticed doing it on their own was probably about 6-8 years old I may be wrong but that is what I happened to notice.

We went to Animal Kingdom yesterday after buy our Florida resident annual passes!!(yippee) and no one in my family was asked to do the finger scan. i thought it was odd as we were always asked to do it before.

When they are busy they will often deactivate the finger scanners so that the lines will more quicker. Today I went to MK this morning, and Epcot this evening. They were not using the finger scanners at Mk this morning but they were at Epcot this evening.
