Tickets still valid?

I went to Universal in May this year with 2-park explorer tickets. At the end of the second day I swapped these at guest services for the 3-park tickets free of charge, which they were offering after a certain date. I was given new physical tickets, which don't seem to have been linked to the others as they didn't not tell us which ticket belong to who. I did not end up visiting universal again so these tickets were never used. I'm wondering if they will still be valid for a trip this year as technically they have not had their first use yet.

Any thoughts on this?

I converted my multi day passes i bought back in 2006-7-8-9
bought some 5 day and 7 day p2p passes.

In February, traded them in for single day tickets.

Expiration on these new tickets stay 2030.

i'll be past the point of walking and doing parks to use them in 2030.......lol

contact guest services to make sure since you have not used the 3 park passes, they will be valid for future visits.
policies change at times so contact gs.

They would definitely be if they didn't link them. What type of 3 park tickets are they? For how long?

poster said they have not been used yet but does not know if they are linked to a person.

none of mine were linked when i changed from passes to single day p2p tickets.
but have no idea if the op passes are connected to a name

They are 3 park explorer tickets, valid 14 days from first use.

As macraven said I'm not sure if they were linked to the original 2 park passes, they were upgraded for free as this was when volcano bay opened. Two of us upgraded at the same time and they didn't specify which of the new tickets was for which person, hence why I think they might not be activated. Is there a way to check validity other than going to the park and trying them?

you could send that as a question to guest services and include a copy/scan of the tickets.

include your phone number as sometimes they call you instead of email you in reply.

that would be the one way to validate them

I think the original tickets were used and then they got upgraded for free to include VB. I know when we upgraded our tickets to APs, the APs were definitely activated even though we had to redo our finger scan. So it could be that the tickets are not connected to a fingerscan but are still dated to their original first day of use. OR, like you say, they may not be activated at all.

The scenario you had with your AP sounds plausible. I have messaged Universal to see if they can check if the tickets are still valid. I have doubts now after your experience!

Generally, when you upgrade something that has been used even once, the upgraded ticket has the same original date of use as the ticket you upgraded from. Otherwise, the park is basically giving out free tickets.

Thats cool that you were able to trade your multi-day passes into single day tickets. Wish I had known about that earlier, because maybe I can do the same?
I bought some 14 day 3park(but it was wet n wild as the 3rd park) tickets back a few years ago. What in the world can I do with those???

I did not end up visiting universal again so these tickets were never used

But the tickets were used. You had a 2 day and you used the two days, and thought you wanted a 3rd day and got it upgraded. (For free!)

That third day should have been used in the time frame allowed. May is far too long ago.

I would consider these tickets fully used and buy new tickets.

if you have never ever used those passes to enter a park, they should be valid.
if you had used them, the pass would have expired 14 days from first usage.

the old passes you mentioned will probably not able to be scanned at the turnstile as the codes would no longer be in the system.
so you would have to use the outside guest services for asking how they could be converted/exchanged.

since wet and wild no longer exists, it would be up to guest services how to handle your request.

on the bottom of my 7 day ticket, the old passes, it stated, expiration, never on the ones from 1999.
the set i exchanged years back was valid for both parks but when i got single day tickets on that pass, it was listed as complimentary tickets.
that meant i could never exchange those 7 tickets for anything in the future.

the ones from 2002 + had about a 20 or so year expiration date.
i traded in the 5 day 2 park passes.

my present ones that are now p2p single day tickets list expiration as 2030.

if you never used them to enter a park, i would think there would be some value on them to do an exchange.
but it all depends on the policy that is in effect now.

i did my exchange knowing Vbay would be opened in a few months.

i had bought about ten sets of the passes years back to use for my sons when they would go with me to the darkside.
i bought the ap in 2002 and keep it renewed each year.
since sons now rarely do orlando, i have tickets for them when they do decide to join me on a free trip.

this makes sense.

That's not entirely how it is, it was a 2 PARK ticket upgraded to a 3 park ticket (not day). In the U.K. initially we could not buy a 3 park ticket (to include VB) unless travelling after June 1st. I bought a 2 park ticket, which was the same price, for my trip in May. When the opening of VB was announced Universal said anyone could swap their 2 park ticket for a 3 park ticket after a certain date in May, to be able to go to VB. I did this 2 days after activating my 2 park ticket but then never used the 3 park ticket they gave me.

I do realise that I am pushing my luck and the ticket should have expired my now. I was just wondering if, given that I never used the new 3 park ticket, would it still work? I'm now thinking it was probably set to expire on the same date as the 2 park ticket I traded for it, but it was worth a thought.

No, they had a 2 park (14 day) explorer ticket and got it upgraded to a 3 park (14 day) explorer ticket with Volcano Bay just opening. I still think the ticket is probably expired by now, but with all the issues there were with Volcano Bay at opening, I wouldn't be surprised if they were given a brand new ticket.

I have never used them (4 total), I think I actually got them based on your recommendation several years ago to get them while they were cheap. I will have to check when I get home but I don't think they have any expiration date - I got them from undercover tourist. I was saving them to use one day when I would have more time or during a slower season. I wish I would have brought them this last trip to see what guest services would do.

Ok, 3 park vs 2 day.

May is more than 14 days ago.

Listen if you got mummy dust then great. Go to the park, tell a manager what happened, and scan the ticket to see.

But the concept of upgrading isn't that your tickets are brand new and unused.

I wouldn't even try. You used your tickets to the extent that you used your tickets, and the 14 days are long since gone.

Gotcha now !

These are the passes you bought in advance

I always tell peeps buy the passes before price changes as they are always valid forever until first used

If they are older passes, they won't scan at the front and you will be walked over to guest services

It should not be an issue to have them reissued

I think it would be best to request you be issued single day p2p tickets so you can use each ticket as needed

If you exchange for a multi day pass, then there would be an expiration such as "expires 14 days after first usage"

I do not know if I got lucky as I requested my old passes be issued as single day p2p tickets

Wishing you the best of luck!!
