Have any of you ever bought WDW tickets on ebay and if so, what was your experience.

TIA

Please, DO NOT buy tickets from Ebay.

There is no way to verify (1) that the tickets are legit and not good forgeries, (2) that the tickets have not been used (the bio-system they use won't allow other users to use old tickets), or (3) that there are any days left on the tickets UNTIL you are at WDW.

I've been a member here on the DIS for several years and have read more than one sad post about someone getting taken for hundreds of dollars when they bought tix on Ebay.

There are legit discount ticket sellers including http://www.ticketmania.com and http://www.undercovertourist.com.

This topic comes up oftern and you will hear of some that purchased tickets with no issue. However, I would not take my chances. Buy directly from Disney or an authorized ticket broker.

I would never take my chances with this. As a PP stated, you will not find out if they are valid or not until you are at WDW. Imagine taking your tickets to the turnstile on your first day..all excited..and finding out that they don't work. Not only will you have to pay full price at this point to replace the tickets, but this dark cloud will hang over your entire vacation. I am a bargain hunter for sure, but I would never do this. I suggest you sign up for the Mousesavers.com newsletter that comes out the 15th of each month, and click on the link for discount tickets through Undercover Tourist. I have purchased from them, as many on these boards have. They usually have a reasonable discount, and they are totally reputable.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the information

I agree Do NOT buy from E-bay or anywhere else but an Authorised dealer.

Even someone with the best intentions may not know that you can't use a Ticket after it's already been used. So they may have great feedback and all and just misinformed.

There are plenty of other discounts but you don't want to show up at a gate and not get let in.

This is one area where I have never heard of Disney taking it easy and letting you pass. All the things they do to extend the Magic TicketMedia is not one of them.

Also if your Getting AP and going before July31st there are a ton of 10% discount cards around right now.

I am always up for a bargain, but i wouldn't buy on ebay -

We have annual passes so all the one day passes we have to buy with a MYW package I sell on Ebay. I have never had a problem.

I saw a listing not too long ago where they described in enthusiastic terms how they couldn't use all the days on their ticket, and there were X number of days left that a buyer could buy at a bargain. I just cringed because I knew where that was headed.

I have sold tickets on ebay (Universal Orlando tickets), but I wouldn't buy them. I just wouldn't take the chance (with the possible exception being if I were going to be using them immediately - within the feedback and Paypal dispute timeframe).

I did purchase from ebay once. I was just looking for a one day ticket and was fortunate to get a seller that had tickets he couldn't use while there for a convention. It was a good deal and I took a chance and it all worked out. We will be in the parks several days this year so I will be ordering from authorized seller.

It's possible to get one day tickets... like if they were given at a convention, or CM's trying to sell thier comps (which can get them fired real fast). But neither ticket is upgradeable.

And do you really want to be out like a grand at the start of your trip because you didn't know the tickets were bad??

After doing a quick search on ebay... there's no deals on buying those tickets.... the few that I saw, there was like 1 with tickets that were only a few dollars cheaper than normal rate.
