can't even get on waitlists. It opened at 11. On computer at 10:59. Gone.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS FOR THE BURBANK STUDIOS TOUR. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EXPO WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS GOING TO HAVE MORE TICKETS AND A LARGER CAPACITY THAN THE TOURS.

This event opened today at 11 for tickets, the Expo tickets have been on sale for a while now.

I can't believe the tickets went so fast! I just got on the wait list though. Try again. I had to allow pop-ups to get to the waitlist page.

Also disappointed in today's reservation event. I was fortunate to get on a waitlist but I did shoot D23 an e-mail to let them know my frustration. I understand that there are limited attendees but it appears they opened the booking window early. I say "appears" because I don't know for sure this happened but it sure looks like it...

I would like to email them as well. I couldn't find the email address can someone post it or PM me with it? Thanks.

Anyhow while looking for the email address I went back to the event page. They had this posted:

"Thanks to the enthusiasm of D23 Members, interest in our special tours of the Walt Disney Archives was extraordinarily high — so much so, that the first round of tours has been filled to capacity. For those D23 Members who were unable to make tour reservations, rest assured we are exploring ways to offer additional tours later this year! Be sure to watch your D23 FanFare for more details. Thanks again for your interest! "

Looks like they might offer more tours. Hopefully it won't be as impossible to get next time.

There was a "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the D23 page that went directly to an e-mail application box.

I'm away from the site at this time so don't have the actual address available.

I don't think it opened early. I was online at ten fifty eight and it wasn't live yet. Meaning the link. It went live at eleven as promised.

If you did get on the waitlist make sure you check your e-mails for the possibility of openings. I received one saying that there were again openings from the waitlist but wasn't able to react quickly enough. I'll keep hoping for sometime down the road!

I did the same thing...logged in early and exactly at 11:00am PST I saw the info for the link and I had my membership number already to paste so as to not waste time typing a lot but it was sold out within seconds it seems!

I did get on the waitlist for Aug. and will keep an eye on my email just in case!

The waitlist was a joke!! I got that email and clicked it within 3 seconds of receiving it... gone already.

I understand stuff gets booked but the point of a freaking waitlist is for people to GET TICKETS WHEN AVAILABLE. It is absurd to send an email saying we have tickets for you, but hurry because others can get them. It was misleading and plan wrong.

I have not been this mad before. I was livid at D23.

Also, the link went up on my computer at like 10:56. I was on the website from 10:30 on.... what a terrible day.

Wow. I can't believe this sold out that quickly. I was looking into joining D23, especially for the cool events, but if it is impossible to get in, doesn't it seem worth it.

Okay, excuse me but.... what the heck are you guys talking about? What event?

If you are a D23 charter member, there are various free events that you are invited to partake in. The first one was a free viewing of UP at the El Capitan and then they recently had an event at EPCOT for the Flower Festival Concerts and premium viewing for Illuminations. You can get tickets to the events online at specific times, but they run out quick. The one they were talking about was a tour of the Disney Archives in Burbank, I believe.

All events are here http://d23.disney.go.com/expo.html

aahhh... big hugs.. i'm so sorry ya'll didn't get the tickets.

Are you talking about the D23 expo at the Anaheim convention center? I just logged onto the D23 web site and as a member I was able to purchase 2 tickets for the 4 day events.

The event this refers to was a tour of the Disney Studios and Archives in Burbank (I think). In addition to the expo, there are other special events that are exclusive and free to members, but very limited. The link I posted above shows you upcoming ones. The next event is on July 17, 2009 for Disneyland's Birthday - there's a film and panel discussion with dessert reception. Tickets can be reserved on June 29. This thread I think caused some confusion today amongst a few people. There were some people that thought you were talking about the Expo. After calling Disneyland tickets from work about the D23 Expo, I still had no answer as to whether the tickets for it was sold out. They explained that you had
to obtain tickets from the website.
So, I rushed home to get my D23 Expo tickets after work and thankfully had no problems getting them. I am a D23 member, so not sure if it is an issue getting them if you are not a member.
