Tickets given at check in (swan)?

Just booked a Disney package (room and tickets) for 4 nights at the swan in March 2024. I was told that my physical tickets will be at the front desk when I check in and then I can link them to MDE account at that time.

Is there anything I need to know in regards to this? I have not been to WDW in 4 years. The last time I went, I stayed at POFQ and I do not recall this process of “linking” at check in time.

Thanks!

My sister booked a Disney package for the Dolphin resort that included tickets. She was supposed to go to the front desk when she checked in to activate her tickets. She didn't do that and when she tried to get into Epcot at the International Gateway she found out that her tickets didn't work. She had to go to Guest Relations to get them to straighten it out. The CM was able to activate her tickets, but it took a while and was a big bother. It would have been a lot easier for her to go to the front desk of the resort when she checked in. :)

Unlike POFQ that is Disney owned and linked directly to ticketing and MDE, Swolphin is just a Good Neighbor hotel (that happens to be sitting right smack dab in the middle of WDW between three other Disney hotels), and their computer systems aren't linked to Disney for ticketing. Yes, they can sell you theme park admission with your hotel package, but they have to give you a physical ticket that you can scan the bar code on or enter the ticket number into MDE like other physical ticket media.

Do you have personal experience? A few years ago I had a COSTCO package. I was told I needed to pick up physical tickets. I called and asked why I couldn't type my tickets in DME and manually link them. They said I could. Worked like a charm.

I don't know if that's still the case. Check your paperwork. See if you have a ticket number that's linkable

I don't know what happened with Woods sister. Tickets have to be linked to the guests DME account. It's not clear to me if the issue was activation or linking.

I don't know if you are responding to the wrong post here, but I literally said "they have to give you a physical ticket that you can scan the bar code on or enter the ticket number into MDE like other physical ticket media..". By "physical ticket" I mean a ticket that is not automatically loaded into your MDE (like if you purchase online), whether you just grab the ticket number off an email, or if you print it out, or if they give you a hard ticket. Costco emails you all of your documents (I believe), whereas Good Neighbor Hotels do not and have the ticket waiting for you.

I'm not the original poster and I don't have any "paperwork" (we are AP holders so don't buy tickets, but do use comp tickets for friends), I was simply explaining WHY Good Neighbor Hotels give you a hard ticket. It works the exact same way with CM comp tickets.

As for the other person, I have no idea why their tickets weren't linked properly and i don't think it has anything to do with whether they went to the front desk or not. Unless you need to go to actually get the ticket media if only to get a number to enter into MDE, then yes, you can simply scan the bar code on your email or enter the ticket number manually.
