My daughter recently purchased Poly DVC and we have our first trip in May. Where's the best place to get one set of annual passes and another adult/child set of 10 day passes? I called member services and received quote from them (as well as on website) but was just wondering if another company has cheaper prices.

Undercovertourist.com is a popular one for buying tickets.

No one has a discount on an AP.

Did she buy direct? If so, she has access to the Gold AP.

For those that don't qualify for the DVC discount or FL resident discounts, AAA has a small savings on the Platinum and Platinum Plus passes like $5 a pass.

We almost always get tickets from Undercover tourist even if we are getting AP's. These tickets are discounted off of the gate price and if you upgrade to an AP the current way it works is for them to give you credit for the gate price so you can get a little savings off the AP.

Only Disney themselves sell APs I believe. There are a few authorized ticket brokers that sell daily tickets for a discount. Undercover Tourist is one of those.

If you are buying DVC annual passes, the DVC Gold passes have a special bonus if bought by Jan 3rd.
You get 13 months instead of the standard 12. We bought ours today!

Just jumping on to ask this:

If you bought resale DVC don't you get access to the Gold Annual Pass if you bought before April(I think) 2016? Either that or my wife and I got lucky in October when we bought them.

Part of the new restrictions are supposed to be no discounted AP's for those who's ownership was purchased via resale after that date in April 2016. If your agreement was sent to ROFR prior to that date you were grandfathered in and are eligible for the discount.

That is what I thought. Resale contracts were bought well before 2016. That status won't change seeing ROFL was sent in on the 21st for an Aulani contract will it? It will still be grandfathered in? (Can you tell I don't handle our DVC, it is all on my wife to do.)

I was of the belief, perhaps incorrectly so, that all DVC Members could buy a Gold Pass regardless of resale status.
The way I understood it is there is no DVC discount on AP's for some resale buyers, but the Gold Pass is not a discount. It's a level of pass.

You just have to have a qualified contract. Adding one that is not qualified will not change the status of the others.

Available to only Florida Residents and DVC members. If DVC classifies it as a "Member Extra", then resale would not be eligible.

Edit - wording is in the footnotes:

This is very confusing - maybe on purpose - but I believe that the ability to purchase APs is a membership extra. See this document that all new buyers have to sign.

If I buy APs now, will they be valid for 1 year when we go in September or will they start day of purchase?

They will be activated the first day you use them. So your 13 months would start in September.

But if a year later, you renew your annual passes, the renewal year would start in September also, not when you first use it.

Have any post 4/2016 resale buyers tried to buy a Gold AP? or at least tried to?

Just a slight clarification: the 13 months starts the day you activate your pass, even if you don't enter a park that day.
