I have our tickets that we got from ticketmania. Do we need to sign the backs now or at the gate in front of people? Does my eight year old sign her own name or do I? Thanks in advance!

We did sign our tickets(also from Ticketmania)before leaving home. I worried about losing them unsigned, which would make them available to anyone. I'm not sure about the child's pass as we had only 2 adult passes.

Your tix would've still been available to anyone if you hadn't used them yet. They don't check your tix signature against any other signed ID, they are signed to match the biometrics. After you've used them once that ticket is matched to the biometrics. We signed ours right before we used them for the first time. Our kids -- 8, 5 and 5 didn't have to sign theirs.

I haven't signed my AP and CM never told me too when I got it. MY DH bought his at earport store and CM there told him to sign it but last I knew he hadn't yet. MY niece had a Tix from DS and there wasn't a place to sign hers.

I let my kids sign their own. The 7yr olds was alittle shaky but oh well!!

You shouldn't have to sign an AP because your name is printed on it.

Because of the biometric finger scan at the turnstiles, it is desirable to have each person's name on his ticket.

Even with the old style park hoppers it was desirable to have names on them because you might hand out the wrong ticket to the wrong child and he goes off on his own to Blizzard Beach and there is no plus admission remaining on that ticket. (Or to horseback riding and there is no flex feature (wish) remaining on that ticket).

Note: Old hopper passes now use biometric scans effective with usage a few weeks ago.

Not one of the 12 in my party signed their tickets, were never asked to for that matter. And as a matter of fact, almost none of us had to even do the finger scan! I was asked to do it TWICE all week long, that is it. My daughter never had to, but some of the other kids did....again just here and there.

We signed ours before we left home, also ticket mania, i had to sign my daughters but then she is only 3, :sunny:

Kind of, but not really...

DW had problems with the biometric scanner at Epcot in early January when MYW was brand new -- the CM compared the signature on the back of the MYW ticket to a signature on a piece of government ID she had with her. That was how she was allowed into the park that day.
