My daughter and her boyfriend are planning to go to Universal for two days over Feb, break. We are considering giving them tickets for Xmas. When pricing tickets, it seems like it is cheaper to buy a basic seasonal pass? Does that make sense? Seems like the dates they want to go are $170 plus a day. basic seasonal pass is $349 plus tax. Am I missing something?

Thanks so much!

Is that AP valid on the days they will be going?

Seasonal Passes are more expensive than a 2-day park-to-park ticket, but not by a ton. If you think that they will go back within 12 months (keeping blockout dates in mind), then they are a great deal.

If you stay at one of the onsite resorts, the APs open up the APH rate, which can save 30-50% of regular room prices...

Continuing what CBMom said, there are sometimes Mardi Gras concerts at US in Feb (weekends) which are blocked out for Seasonal APs, meaning they could not go to US that day. When they announced the Manheim Steamroller concerts in Dec they lifted that standard blockout, but we don't know yet about Feb. If they are going on a weekend a regular ticket might be safer.

As others have said, be careful planning to purchase Seasonal Passes for February because they will be blocked out of the Studios on certain days due to Mardi Gras/concerts.
Although they can always be upgraded for the extra charge.

Universal APs are a steal.

The one day and two day park tickets are a rip off so it would be dumb not to get at least the cheapest AP (also gives you park hopper)
