Just thinking about our trip at Easter and the tickets. We usually go for the 14 day ultimate but are considering a 10 day basic pass. The water parks etc aren't a big consideration this time because my DS will only be 20 months but we cant decide whether the option to park hop is worth the extra £130 or so? We have never hopped in the past - we usually do a morning in a park and then return back later for the evening. Do you hop? How do you plan things? Will the fact that it will be busy at Easter have any bearing do you think?

Extra £130? I thought hopping was included in the 14 day Ultimate anyway?

In answer tho, i never find myself wanting to hop, tho maybe if i stayed onsite i'd be more tempted

Yes the 14 day Ultimate definitely is a hopper, and is £166 ish, so not sure how you get the extra £130 unless you're getting your non hopping tickets for about £30 ;)

We usually park hop because we love ending the evening in Epcot for dining. Usually we go to a park in the morning for three/four hours then go back to OKW to swim and then nap and then back to whatever park takes our fancy for the evening. For freedom of choice I definately would opt for the ultimate ticket.

The OP is talking aobut the Magic Your Way pass, not the 14 day Ultimate. However, it definitely doesn't cost an extra £130 to include hopping - only $45 regardless of the number of days ont he pass (getting the prices from www.undercovertourist.com)

Could it be that you are looking at the price for hoppers with the non-expiry option added also :confused3

For $45 it is defintiely worth it, in my opinion, as it gives you the flexibility to be able to do a morning in one park, then an evening in another - however, if you haven't 'hopped' in the past and are unlikely to this time, I suppose it is $45 that could be better spent elsewhere.

ETA: From Undercover Tourist, you are looking at $235.95 for a 10-day base pass and $280.95 for a 10-day MYW with 'hopping'

For us it is a no-brainer - we want the flexibility so will be purchasing hoppers :)

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Three (2 adult one child) 10 day magic your way base tickets without the hopping option will cost us about £250 in total. The 14 day ultimate will cost about £370 for 3 of us. That means the £120 difference (give or take depending on exchange rate) for hopping and water parks.

I would be very interested to know where you are getting your prices from as the cheapest 10-day pass I can find is as quoted above (with child ticket costing $196.95) so a total of $668.85 or approx. £340

If you can get them cheaper somewhere, I would love to know since I am looking to buy the 10-day MYW tickets for our trip.

The cheapest I have been able to find the 14-day Ultimate is around £165 so, again, for 3 of you this is likely to cost nearer to £500 than £370. I have to admit to being a tad confused.

My husband was looking last night. Not exactly sure where he got his info but I'll check with him and let you know!

The OP says her son is 20 months old so will not need a ticket, so all prices are for 2 adult tickets only, perhaps this is where the confusion is?

BTW we love to have the felxibilty to park hop, have so far mahaged 3 parks in one day!!

Claire ;)

Be really careful buying tickets from other tellers online - particularly USA based ones. I know there are a LOT of good sellers out there but I also get lots of people who have bought a ticket only to find it's an old one and doesn't have the options they thought it would. Also, the UK deals are often better value for longer trips than if you buy the USA ones with the upgrades because most Americans don't go for as long a trip. I'm not saying 'don't buy from usa' just saying 'be careful'.

As for hopping? Yeah, we hop all the time. We do things like spend the morning in AK then hop over to Epcot or Hollywood Studios for the evening entertainment. But then when we go it is an adult group...which might make a difference.

we parked hopped all the time, e.g water park in the morning, dinner in the park in the afternoon, or morning at the studio and then over to epcot in the afternoon, I think the Hop option is worthwhile.

As we have been a lot now, we tend to go to one park do only the rides we are interested in, then have a rest back at the hotel before returning to another park - so we always hope about.

However, on a first visit it takes you a lot longer to do the parks because you want to do everything so you may not have the energy to hop into another park.

we always hop...usually every day....morning in one park, evening in a different park...
sometimes 3 parks in a day....we've been known to run into a park, do one thing and then head to another park...

but i should add that we have annual passes, so we don't care about doing little bits at a time or lots...
