Ticket?-will this work?

DMIL wants to go to WDW for 5 days. She doesn't anticipate doing much park-hopping, but she'd like the option of doing it once or twice. So instead of buying the 5 day w/PH option, which would cost $228 ($193+$35), she wants to buy a 7 day base ticket ($199), save $29, and use 7 "days" by enterring 7 times in 5 days. Will this work? Has anyone done it?

No, you can't do that. When you enter your ticket to be read, it will see that a different park has been entered that day and entrance will be denied. You cannot use multiple days on a ticket for park hopping. (Though you can of course re-enter the same park on the same day). Sorry.

Weird that they won't let you use up another day on the ticket just to go to another park on the same day.

Not really weird because otherwise noone would buy the park hopping feature. It wouldn't even be needed because people would just buy more days.

Is park hopping really costing more than buying more DAYS admission? I would think a day's admission would cost more than park hopping added for that day... except ofcourse they'd probably want you to add park hopping for EVERY day of your trip even though it's not needed. so yes, in that case they want more money for something you aren't even using.

I still think it's silly to not allow you to use another entire park day just to visit another park that day. I guess the way around this (if you could afford it) is to buy TWO 10 day park tickets without park hopping. Then you could use the OTHER ticket if you want to go to another park on the same day.

BBB, the problem here is that you expect common sense to be the same as mathematical truth, and the two do not always equal.

Disney is trying to get people to stay longer. The longer you stay, the more you spend on rooms, food, etc. So in the past year or two they began almost giving away park admissions for larger numbers of days. For example, a base ticket for 5 days is $205.55, and a base ticket for 10 days equals $222.59. That means that the last five days of admission cost a TOTAL of $17.04, or about $3.41 for EACH DAY of those last 5 days. They're smart enough to make hopping for 5 days more expensive ($235.37) than base admission for 10 days ($222.59), because you must pay for the desirable perk of hopping.

Disney is a money making machine. God Bless American capitalism. If they didn't have a product we wanted, they wouldn't earn as much money as they do. And it's not like they're price-gouging a NECESSARY product, such as gasoline or vaccine.
