My family and I will be arriving late on Saturday. Can we exchange our vouchers that night (and not enter the parks) so as to avoid exchanging them on Sunday morning?

I don't understand what you're asking.

If you mean the Give a Day, Get a Day vouchers, then no, you can't. :(

If you have an Eticket printout, you just take it to the gate when you want to go in and it will take just a few seconds for them to give you your hard copy ticket, so there's really not much need to go get it in advance, whether or not you actually COULD.

If you have some other voucher, then I just don't know. :confused3 Good luck!

I also purchased vouchers online and I was under the impression that like you say, you could trade them in for real tickets at any time (it says to present at a ticket booth with your ID) and then use them later. My vouchers (5 day hopper from lastminutetravel.com) say nothing about using the tickets same day, so I will definitely try to pick up the tickets the day before I go for real. SO I am hoping that is how they work. Ill find out in a couple of days.

We are buying tickets this way for our upcoming trip. It's the first time we have, rather than purchase hard copies in advance. We were planning on going to the ticket booth on Friday evening when we arrive to exchange the vouchers, and not enter until Saturday. That seems to me how the language on the vouchers work. I hope this is correct? Does anyone know for sure?

It literally takes no time at all to hand over your prepurchased online vouchers (via disneyland.com, anyway)...they scan the barcode and your ticket pops out. You don't need to get them any sooner than when you want to use your ticket the first time.

PS It works at the monorail station in DTD too, that's where we exchanged ours last time. You don't need to go to the ticket booth. Just the turnstiles.

I cannot say for SURE, but I would say that if it does NOT have a bar code, and it cost you money, your plan should work.

Does the verbiage say to take them to the ticket booths? If so, you should be fine, as there's no way for them to FORCE you to walk into the park from the ticket booths. :) The ticket booths should be open until maybe 30 minutes before park closing, I was told? (That was in June during peak hours though.)

If you bought the tickets through Disneyland.com than go straight to the entrance gates on your first day at the park.

If you purchased tickets through another source (GAT, ARES, etc) then you have to exchange them at the ticket booth, and yes you can exchange the day before (and I'd suggest it if you arrive before parks close the night before).

Are these paper tickets that you exchange for or the more durable plastic?

I think this is how it works, yes. It's the first time we've done it. We are just trying to wrap our minds around not having AP's!:lmao:

We are buying the tickets online, printing them at home, and then we are supposed to be able to go to a ticket booth and exchange them for a hard plastic pass. I hope it all goes smoothly! I am also hopeful we can go the evening before and have it not eat up a day. We just don't want to hold people up in line the first morning we enter! :scared1:

When you present your printout from Disneyland.com at the entrance gates they will give you a paper parkhopper not plastic, in our experience.

As some of the previous posters said, just go directly to the entrance gates, it literally takes them seconds to scan the printout and hand you the paper parkhoppers. :goodvibes

Disneyland tickets that you purchase on DL's site can be presented at the turnstile and they scan your printout and out pops a regular park hopper ticket. Very easy.

Any other medium from Getawaytoday, Ares Travel or Last Minute Travel require you to go to the Ticket Booth and exchange a voucher (GAT doesn't have a voucher - they use your ID to find you in their system, but you still have to go to the Ticket Booth) for regular park hopper tickets.

You CAN exchange them the night before you go into DLR - that is the most convenient way to do it IMO, since then you will be ready to activate them when you enter DL or CA the next day. The days don't start expiring until you activate them.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks - that was just what I needed to know. We're either getting parkhoppers from AAA or Last Minute Travel - haven't decided yet - so I'll exchange them the nite before.

Thank you, everyone, this is what we needed to know as well. :goodvibes We are getting our tickets from ARES, so it is good to know our plan will work!

Is there any way to purchase souviner tickets without the package. Our paper tickets get destroyed where the plastic ones remain intact.

Hi Jack,

We bought 3 day hoppers at the grocery store (Kroger owned) and they were hard plastic. I don't know if they have longer hoppers that are plastic...but they were nice.
