Ticket Upgrade

I just got off the phone with ticket services, hoping to no avail that they would be able to tell me hom many days are left on my MYW tickets from 9/05, when the CM told me that since I had a seven day pass I could still upgrade to a 10 day when we go back in May. I responded that I thought upgrades could only be done within 14 days of first use, and she informed me that only applies to expiration tickets and I still could since we purchased the Non-Exp.

Has anyone else been told or done this? I have not heard of being able to do it out of the 14 day window.

TIA

You should be able to turn in your old ticket and use the leftover days as credit towards the purchase of the new ticket. That may have been what the CM meant...... You should do a little math to see if you're better off doing this or simply getting a new ticket to cover the days you don't have tickets for already - it depends on what you originally spent.

Yes! We sent in a letter last month about a ticket problem and Guest Services called last week to resolve the problem for us. :-)

Unrelated to the issue in the letter, they said we could upgrade our expiry tickets (we had both types in our group) to non-expiry. I asked DW 10 times if that's what they said. She repeated it back to them and they said "yes". Now, I don't see how our other ticket problem played into that (we distributed 2 tickets to the wrong family members). Perhaps they were in a "have it your way" mood, or perhaps this can be done any time. I imagine you still need to "do the math".

If an expiring ticket is used at all and then 14 days pass before it is fully consumed, it is dead, kaput, fubar, worthless. Unless a sympathetic CM wants to throw you some extra pixie dust (possible with a 10 day pass with 8 days remaining) when you show up at Guest Relations.

After 14 days from first usage, you can take the remains of a 7 day non-expiring ticket, add cash, and come away with a 10 day ticket but the exchange rate is quite poor. (Much more than the within 14 day upgrade of a 7 day non-expiring to 10 day costing $59.) In most cases you would be better off buying a new 10 day non-expiring ticket for this upcoming vacation and use the remains of both tickets during a yet future vacation short enough that both cover.
