Ticket Upgrade?

I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched for other threads, but was never quite clear on the answer.

We bought 7 day park hoppers from Undercover Tourist several months before we decided to stay onsite, and we have since decided to add a couple days to our trip. Will I be able to add 2 more days to our tickets as well as the water park & more option?

If so, do I need to do this through WDW or Undercover Tourist?

Thanks!

I'M assuming you mean the Magic Your Way tks. that replaced the Park Hoppers. The answer is yes. It can be done at any WDW Guest Services Window. The fact that you purchased them through Undercover Tourist doesn't matter. Have a great trip :sunny:

Disney does not penalize a person for buying discounted tickets when upgrading them.

If the ticket has been purchased at a price less than the current gate price this is a two-step process. Note it can only be done within 14 days of first use, even if it has the no-expire option.

First an "intermediate" ticket is issued, which brings the price value up to the current Disney gate price. This is charged to an internal account and not to the Guest.

Then the intermediate ticket is upgraded to a new ticket by adding days and/or options. All the Guest has to pay is the cost for each day and/or option added (plus tax, of course).

Note this only works for MYW tickets. Anything pre-MYW cannot be upgraded; if completely unused you can apply the cost value to the new ticket. If partially used nothing can be done but you can still use the remaining entries. If demagnetized we can replace it.

That's a great description, Cheshire. :)

It's really great how they are giving the full value of the current gate price...I'm upgrading an 8-day MYW to an AP and it's going to save me a few bucks, since I bought it before the price increases.

Hi -
Does anyone know if you can combine tickets to upgrade to an Annual Pass? I'm thinking that you can't but it never hurts to ask. For example, I have 7 day MYW (with Hopper) and I will have a 1 -day MYW that I purchased with a package to get the Dining plan. Can I combine the two tickets and get AP's?
Just kind of curious......

That's interesting. :thumbsup2 allearsnet.com faq ticket section says the 14 days doesn't apply for non-expiring tickets.

Chesire Figment: I have MYW 7 day Water Park and More and wanted to add the hopper feature. Do you know the cost of that? Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply It looks like I'll be saving my 1-day MYW passes for a "rainy day".

Guests have reported problems with the "intermediate ticket" or "paper upgrade" process which can and should be invisible to the guest. More such problems have been reported when the guest attempted the upgrade at a resort as opposed to at a park, don't ask me why.

Can I say it is safe to print out this thread and carry it and show it to a Guest Relations manager if an argument went that far?

I am told that when upgrading to annual passes, the "intermediate ticket" process does NOT apply and only the (also invisible) dollar value associated with the original pass and somewhat related to the consumer price paid is credited towards the AP. This difference in itself makes it easy for the CM to push the wrong button and fail to do the intermediate ticket step for ordinary upgrades, thus quoting an incorrect high price to the guest.

Three brand new questions for Cheshire Figment regarding non-expiring tickets:

1. If the MYW ticket was purchased for $30. less than current gate prices, for example last year (2005), had been used more than 13 days ago, and the guest wants to add water park fun (let's say the price posted above the ticket booth is $55.) how much would the upgrade cost?

2. If a 10 day MYW ticket has two days remaining and the guest wants to add water park fun, how many water park fun admissions would he get (a) if the ticket had not been used more than 13 days ago, and (b) if the ticket had been used more than 13 days ago?

3. If a guest discovered, after returning home, that he was penalized contrary to what you said, could that guest get a credit towards something on his next visit?

Thanks for the great explaination! I have two more questions...

1) Do the tickets have to be used first? (I think I remember hearing, yes)

We aren't scheduled to actually go to the parks until 11/25, but would like to go to DisneyQuest/PI on 11/23 and 11/24, and we discovered that it is only going to cost around $12 more to add the Water Park & more option plus two more days park access to our tickets then it would to pay for DisneyQuest/PI and not have any park access those two days. So I would need for them to be upgraded before we actually enter a park, if that is possible. It's just going to mean going to a park to use them first, and I think it will be hard to drag ourselves away once we do that.

2) If they don't have to be used first, can they be upgraded at DisneyQuest or anywhere in DTD?

Thanks!
