Ticket upgrade question

I have a 6 day adult park hopper pass that I purchased last fall, straight from Disney, parked in my MDE account, unused.

I wanted to use it toward the renewal of my annual pass, but since an upgrade has to be done on site, that is not an option.

I am going to The World in April. Can I do to Guest services at that time, upgrade it to a 7 or 8 day pass, and leave it sitting in my MDE account unused, with the intent to assign it to one of my "friends and family" members?

My sister will need a 7 or 8 day pass later this year, so upgrading it and assigning it to her would be the best use of the ticket, but I want her to be able to make FPs for the entire trip, have full access to the ticket, etc. She will be going with her family, and I do not want one of her tickets to behave differently from all the rest (which will be bought from Disney, directly as 7 or 8 day park hoppers)

In Short, can I upgrade it in april, leave it unused, and assign it to someone else who can then make fast passes 60 days out with it (yes they are staying on property)

Thank you. Yes, unused. That was actually part of my concern, being able to upgrade a ticket I was not using. I know upgrading a ticket in use is no big deal.

The only thing I have done is moved who it is assigned to in my MDE account. I had it "parked" in a friends name, then assigned it to myself to renew my AP, but when I could not do that, I moved it back to said friend. But, no one has used it to enter a park or anything.

There is no requirement that you have to use a day(s) on the ticket before it can be upgraded. Its common to have extra tickets "parked" in fake names inside of MDE so it just so happens that you have yours parked in your friends name and you can transfer it to your sister in time for her to make FP.
