Ticket upgrade question

We have 2-day park hoppers. Can I upgrade them to 3-day/1 park tickets, or would I have to upgrade them to 3-day park hoppers? Difference between 2-day hoppers and 3-day/1park is like $10, which I think is worth it to allow us to ride the Haunted Mansion on evening of Aug 23rd before it closes (original plan was to just be in the parks 24th/25th, hence I bought 2 day park hoppers). We arrive afternoon of the 23rd.

We did this when I went! It worked perfectly fine. Just tell them you don't want the park hopper. You just have to pay the difference.

Just make sure you switch out the tickets before you use the existing PH.
