Ticket Upgrade Question

I was reading in another thread the success some have had with upgrading their tickets to Power Passes. I have several questions about upgrading 3 Park Unlimited tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist.
1. Are these tickets eligible to be upgraded to an annual pass?
2. If upgraded to Power Pass, should I wait until the last day of use of the 3 Park Unlimited ticket before I do the upgrade since we will be visiting during a blockout period (Dec 11 - 19)?
3. Can I upgrade them to a Preferred Pass and just pay the difference? I paid $200 per ticket, so would the upgrade price be about $95 + tax each?
4. What is the effective day of the Annual Pass? Date of upgrade or date of first use of the existing 3 Park ticket?
Sorry about all of the questions, just trying to figure out all options and which is best for us.
Thanks....

you wouldn't be able to upgrade tickets to the power pass during a black out time

effective day of the ap is when you first use it.
don't know if you upgrade from tickets to an ap if start date would be
first day using tickets
first day using ap

Thanks for the info. I guess we will ask guest services while we are there. Even going to the Preferred Pass will be a savings for next year over buying 14 day tickets, not to mention the other savings(food/merchandise) that come with the AP.

Thanks again.

I've read in other threads on this board that the 3 park unlimited ticket (IOA, US, WnW) is not upgradeable to an annual pass at all. It's usually pointed out as the only disadvantage to that particular ticket.

Start date was first date of using the tickets for us. Just like Disney.

I feel that you are worried that only some are able to upgrade? As long as the ticket can be upgraded (can't use the tickets that include wet and wild, for instance) then it can be upgraded.

The big question is the cost. For us it wS the difference between the cost of the ap and what we paid for the tickets. That's like Disneyland, and I am fine with it. Some have gotten the price "bridged", paying the difference between ap and that day's gate price for the ticket. That's like at wdw and is a bonus.

if you go with the preferred ap, you will come out ahead in the long run.

think of how much it would cost for park attendance if you went for two separate trips within that 12 month time period.

it could easier be way over the initial cost of the preferred ap.

throw in free parking after the ap has been activated, 10% discounts of of food and merch at the darkside, hotel discounts if lucky, discounted hhn tickets if you do that hard ticket event, and you would be over the cost of that ap.

good luck on deciding bama fan!

it is that initial shock of spending that much money on ap's that will get you time and again when you are in the decision making process.

Since the OP is asking about the 3 Park Tickets that include the waterpark, I don't think he can upgrade them at all to any kind of AP.

You are correct. I decided to give guest services a call and they confirmed that they cannot be upgraded due to revenue sharing between UO and WnW. Only tickets which are for IOA and US are eligible.

I'm going to agree with everyone else, everything I've seen suggests the 3 park ticket that included WnW can't be upgraded. To the other question, with a "normal" single day through 4 day ticket you can upgrade your ticket to a Power Pass during a blackout period. I did it myself Jan 2nd this year. The main thing is to wait until you are done park hopping for the day and if you want to stay in the park, upgrade at the inside CS office. Since you are in the park, you can stay in the park but you couldn't leave and return or park hop since your "new" ticket won't let you into a park. But you can stay in the park you upgraded at.
