Ticket Questions

I'm taking 2 of my friends with me this summer to WDW. We're debating on the types of tickets that they should buy. To save the parents money, we're thinking of just telling them to get the regular tickets, no parkhopper.

Here's my question. If you don't have a parkhopper ticket, and you leave the park, but return to the same park after the afternoon break, does that second entrance count for another day on your ticket?

We plan on heading to the parks in the morning, then returning for a swim at the resort, because the August heat is bad, then going back after the break for dinner and fireworks.

You've got the right idea. With a base ticket, you can come and go as you please into that same park all day. But you couldn't go to another park on that same day and hope to count it as a second "day" off the ticket.
