Ticket Questions-magic band

We have FD for the fall and myself, DH, DD11 and DD8 are going. Currently DH is set to come along but work could change things. We have 5 day PH which will logically be attached to magic bands.

In the past, we purchased the minimum 2 day ticket needed for FD and upgraded when we got there in case he could not come. Keeping his ticket for a future trip instead of changing the reservation and incurring fees.

How does this work with the magic band? Does it only allow me to make reservations for the 2 days I have tickets (if I were to downgrade the ticket). Or can I make the entire length of our stay.

Also, since the ticket is attached to the magic band, do I need to have a paper one before we leave. Can it stay on the magic band? Also, can the ticket (never been used) be transferred to a different adult.

1- Yes.
2- Only for the number of days for which you have park tickets.
3 & 5- The ticket is not "on" the MagicBand. The ticket will be listed
in your MyDisneyExperience file. (See 5 below.)
4- Nope.
6- Yes.

5-Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each fo them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed when needed.

Thanks for the information. One more question, if the ticket never gets used how do I "take it home". For example I have and old KTTW card in our safe with a two day ticket on it that was never activated.

How does this work with the band? Now that I think about it, I don't even truly know how it works with the card.

The ticket is not "on" the MagicBand. The ticket will be listed
in your MyDisneyExperience file.
You will keep this same file into the future, so the record of you buying the ticket will
stay in your file.

BTW, if you like, you can have Guest Relations put the ticket onto a plastic
card before you leave WDW.
